I use a thing called a “sno brum”. It’s basically a flat blade of pool noodle material with an extendable pole. I can clean the top of my suv in a minute or two. Then I just take it apart and toss it in the back.
I think this is the one I bought.

When I was a field auto rep in New England I mostly just ignored the weather forecast. It was what it was. It just took longer. Since I moved to Cincinnati I mostly just stay home and do desk work on snowy days since the city & roads become dysfunctional with even a little snow.
Most of the time it's not too hard to reschedule appointments as your insureds/claimants usually don't want to deal with it while it's snowing either.
One regret after doing this job for many many years is that I didn't buy proper outdoor clothing for the first decade. Spend the money to get some really good quality rain & snow foul weather gear and your life will be much easier. With the right long underwear and hat/jacket/gloves you can stand around outdoors in total comfort all day long even on the coldest days.
Buy a foam-head snow-brum to save a bunch of time on inspections.
So true. It may seem obnoxious but i won’t touch my car with anything besides a SnoBrum wrapped in a microfiber towel. Only because I spent tons of time and cash polishing the paint and removing all of the swirls.

10x easier than using a brush
Snow Brum - car dealers use them to remove snow without scratching paint. A must for those who park outside.
I just bought a Sno brum form my local Subaru dealer. They have similar for sale on Amazon also
