speaking of murder hobos, this exists
Due to the way time intersects in the books it's best to read the AA/DD books in a mix otherwise things don't add up or something is referenced that you haven't read about yet.

This is the order I highly recommend - It may be complicated and it may seem all over the place but it gives you the best experience in my opinion.
AA 1-3, DD 1-4, AA 4, DD 5, AA 5+, CC 1, WW 1, CC 2-5+
Alternate recommendation: AA 1-4, DD1-5, AA5+, WW, CC 1-5+
Optional read: Essence - A collection of in universe short stories, not all are related to the other books, but there are a couple hidden gems.
If you want to stick Essence in there, I'd say before the WW / CC books.

Dakota Krout does not do this. Check out Full Murder Hobo. Only problem is its a silly book. And you have to be in the mood for it.
Tao Wong has the MC pull away from all those responsibilities in book 6 of System apocalypse. And the series becomes the best sci fi rpglit around. The MC is an obsessive jerk who only cares about his quest. However it makes for an extremely compelling story.
The Bad guys the author avoids town building because he is doing it in his other book the Good Guys. Here, the MC has to go on a quest to save his own life. Then he goes on side quests. One he does because he shamed in to it by someone who helped save his life. He does another side another to get passage on a boat. Another he does as returning the favor of someone who helped him. And we are on book 9 no village to take care of.
