According to the Q&A, you can set a delayed start and then an amount of time for it to stay on. Sounds a little fussy for your needs since you'd have to set it every night based on the amount of time between then and when you want to wake up rather than just picking a time. I think a built in solution is probably safer though than a pass-through device that plugs into the wall.

I see... Well as a workaround you could set up a personal heater to turn on and off at set times.

A radiant heater would work best since it won't decrease relative humidity, which of course presents issues of its own going into these colder months.
