The book Spearhead tells the story of the Pershing crew that killed the Panther. Good read.
There is a great book about the gunner who disabled this panther: https://www.amazon.com/Spearhead-American-Gunner-Enemy-Collision-ebook/dp/B07D6CGMRN
Awesome book I found from Reddit was Spearhead.
I read most of the books listed in this thread and this one flew under the radar and is really good. All about tank warfare in the Wester European Front of WW2 from an American and German gunner perspective. Both of whom were in the Battle of Cologne and the two gunners faced each other in a Pershing and Panther tank and their dual was actually filmed by Andy Rooney.
I've been trying to get around to Adams Makos' Spearhead. Or Unbroken by Hillenbrand. Jarhead was worth reading, too. Generation Kill was ok.
Storm of Steel by Ernst Junger was pretty good. Parts of it were sorta tedious but it was pretty brutal.
Here's the book about it Great read.
I'm looking forward to reading this weekend. I decided I want to read NPR's top 100 Sci-fi/Fantasy books. I've already read 7 of the top 10, so I'm digging into the Foundation series.

I'm also starting a non-fiction called Spearhead about two opposing Tank gunners in WW2. I just finished a book called The Battle of the Bulge which was a fascinating and fun read.
