I use these bait stations, so far no activity but our area is prone to termites and the bait stations make me feel better that I'd get a warning.
Not the most common enemy, but I’ve had termites destroy plants before!! They’ll chew through the stem right at soil level leaving your plant looking like a sharpened pencil. For me, I think they came from my old wooden garage or a delivery of mulch I got that year. I use these stakes around my plants now to be safe and I haven’t had a problem in a couple years: https://www.amazon.com/Spectracide-Terminate-Termite-Detection-Killing/dp/B00AA8WVLI Good luck!

Going to give these a try before I commit a thousand dollars or so to have some guy come out every three months for a couple years. Seems to do the same thing, no special rools or complicated kits.
there are two types of termite infestations.. there is the huge ass cloud of termites that you can't do anything about except directly spray.. and then there are termites that are underground and that infest your home that way.
First thing you know you need to do is remove that bait wood you have outside.. just burn it .
second you can get a garden spreader and put down a few bags of this

I would treat the perimeter of your house against the foundation and out about 10 feet with about 4 passes with a garden fertilizer spreader.. and then I would treat the area where the tree and where the wood was about the same. Actually do the whole yard it will kill off a lot of pests and grubs that you don't want.

Then you get this and put it on your hose and spray any termites you actually see
Then place these around your foundation

You will be into this about $150 and it will be more than Terminix will do for you
you will probably have to spot treat for the rest of the summer.. and maybe even for a year or two but the bait traps and crystals should hopefully kill the nest.
If you see any in your home you should use a canister vacuum to suck them up.. bring the canister vac outside and spray it with an aerosol can of termite and ant killer. before you open the vac.. crack the lid and spray inside.. do this far from your home.
