nice. i like carrying budget folders too.. no point in EDCing some $200 knife that im going to hesitate to use to pry open a door or some shit if thats what i need it for. i carry the spyderco tenacious for the same reasons! kershaw makes nice shit though
ive tried ZT folders, benchmade folders, kershaw SOG gerber blah blah blah.. my favorite is the spyderco tenacious . dont let the price tag fool you. this guy is thin, light, FFG, solid lock zero play in any direction, effortless release smoother than butter, scalpel sharp, fully adjustable, fits like a glove, and also cheap-ish so easily replaceable. i use mine every day though and it still looks/functions brand new. its what i carry. in my opinion, its the perfect pocket knife.. i have 2, one in black and one in stainless. infinitely nicer than most knives that retail around quadruple the price point.
The original ~ tree-fiddy price is wrong.
Knife is good, but for 37 USD you can probably get something better given the fact that it is a chinese made knife (ie. chinese 8cr13mov steel).
For around the same price you can get Spiderco Tenacious (also, made in china and same steel) but probably better manufacture plus a time proven design. ([link])
Why not a Spyderco Tenacious?
Granted, it is about twice as heavy as the KISS, but with the weight you get G10 scales, a practical blade (Chisel grind tantos are made for stabbing people, they're profoundly "meh" for utility), and Spyderco quality. I've heard good things about CRKT, but you mind as well spend the extra couple bucks for a much better knife (IMO).
This is a fantastic knife at a great price. I have the same knife with the exception being mine is the serrated version. I have many knives, quite a few of them are much more expensive than my Tenacious but it's the one that ends up in my pocket most often.
Get the tenacious.
Edit: I guess I'll add a little more; that sounded lazy. Tenacious is one of the few knife purchases of mine that I can 100% justify. I carry it pretty often. The pocket clip can be changed to carry in either tip or or tip down right or left handed. I carry right handed tip up with a ziptie around the whole for a "wave" feature. It works really well and stays sharp. Here is one for a very good price just click the link then buy it and get it over with I promise you won't regret it. It comes in serrated and half serrated, so if you want that get that version.
I have 2 knives. A Spyderco Tenacious G-10, and a Kershaw 1660 Ken Onion Leek
I'll start with the course diamond and do about 20 passes towards the cutting edge (as if I'm trying to shave the sharpener instead of scraping the blade against it) on each side moving the diamond at an angle so the entire blade was touched. Then the same with the fine diamond, then the same with the Arkansas stone. I'm using the shallow angle option on the blade holder.
I don't strop the blades afterwards with leather.
Good idea about marking the blade edge with a Sharpe, I'll try that.
This is a great knife! Spyderco Tenacious $41

Somebody probably mentioned this one already, but the Spyderco Tenacious is a great folder. If you have Amazon Prime, the price is only about $35. I think that is what you typically see them going for in stores too. Basically you should not be paying the $60 ticket price on one, but people (my dad included) swear by them.
I have a Benchmade Griptilian that I have carried for years, but for the price you can't beat the Spyderco.
Spyderco Tenacious for $35. I really don't know what better deal you would want. Maybe it's not quite what you're looking for, though.
I got a Spyderco Tenacious for Christmas and I love it
