Here it is on amazon

No, you didn't say you had a mesh seat, or the Amazon Basics chair had a mesh seat, or the Ikea chair, or that you don't like mesh seats. You didn't address the chair material at all, that's apples to oranges. At least some in this thread are comparing OP chair to the Staples Hyken Technical Mesh Chair ($145), which is very similar.
If a leather cushion breathes (expels air when squished and inhales on release), that absorbs odors. Not sure how a see-thru web-mesh can absorb smells like that, but whatever.
Honestly for a chair you're going to be working in 8 hours a day, you'll probably want an ergonomic chair. Everyone I've known with a gaming chair has said they're not comfortable for more then a few hours. I got this one when I was looking and absolutely love it for working from home 3 days a week, had it since 2020 and it's still in great shape and just as comfy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OCSNMO2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_E4PEA00EHKGKS6WD16JM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
> he same garbage for the most part. It's either "mega comfy leather chair that starts peeling within a year" or "cushioning is gone within a few months"
^^^ this man gets it. Get on craigslist and buy the best chair money can buy. Lots of companies are closing their office so getting one of fb/craigslist is easy. setup alerts for tbe the first.
Herman Miller Aeron
I use this at work. It's not bad also. https://www.amazon.com/Staples-Hyken-Technical-Chair-Black/dp/B00OCSNMO2

Don't buy a gaming chair, they're terrible for your posture. Look on amazon or any office supply store for ergo task chairs. They're a lot better for your body for long sessions. Something like this going to be way cheaper than a gaming chair and better for you in the long run.

It is a Staples Hyken chair. It seems Staples doesn't carry it on their site anymore which is a bummer because I have had two of these and they are fantastic for the price. Got it for around 120$. Seems they have some on Amazon though they are more expensive, here.
If someone is looking for a cheaper option, consider this guy. I went with a mesh bottom so that my farts could pass through with ease, in addition to avoiding swamp ass. Had it for a couple years and no signs of wear after daily use, and it's decently adjustable. I's sure you can find it cheaper than this link as well. https://www.amazon.com/Staples-Hyken-Technical-Chair-Black/dp/B00OCSNMO2
I have the hyken chair (http://www.amazon.com/Staples-Hyken-Technical-Chair-Black/dp/B00OCSNMO2)
It is also cheaper at staples' website.
It has a headrest built in and seems like a durable and comfortable chair for it's price range. I have had a great experience with it the past year. It fits my 250 pound dad comfortably but may not fit you well if you are too tall or too short depending on the nature of the slightly adjustable headrest.
I have the Staples Hyken office chair, and it is extremely comfortable and only $135 on Amazon right now. The mesh is slightly springy which makes for an extremely nice feeling chair, and you won't overheat sitting in it for long periods of time. Unfortunately it doesn't have an adjustable headrest, so it won't work for everyone. The arm rests also only have two settings, high or low. BUT, if those two things don't bother you it is awesome.
Yep I'm trying to sell my chair to buy a new one. I made the mistake of buying this one but it's more for people who are 100% on the computer (if you don't sit perfectly in this chair, the bottom part pushes against your lower back). Reading textbooks and studying is impossible with this chair since looking down at your desk is not an option
It's $150 on amazon, unless technical is a different chair?
I use an Raynor Ergohuman. I only need to replace a single armrest after owning it for 6 years and using it every day.
You will not regret getting into spendy ergo chairs like Ergohuman and Herman Miller.
Try the Hyken from Staples if you're not insane like me.
My chair is an Aeron that I got back in '11. Its a great chair. I love it. If I only need one chair, that would be it. You can find refurbished ones closer to your price point.
My home office chair... when 'everyone WFH' started, I got a not the cheapest chair, but a reasonable one from Office Depot. It was a nice high back chair... though it was a foam seat (and back) on some hard surface. I'd say its ok for a 2h/day sitting chair, but I quickly realized that it was very poor for a 4+h/day sitting chair. So I ordered another one (it now sits in front of the window so my cat can sit in it).
(searching Amazon order history)
On March 20th, I got a Hyken Technical Task chair https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OCSNMO2/ (you can find it on New Egg too). Its a fairly good one. If you want something in the sub $200 range - that's probably it.
Now... I'm going to say "go try those chairs." That is how I selected the Aeron - I went to a store that sold them with my laptop and sat in each of them for 15 minutes. This is important to see what is comfortable - for you. I sat in the A, B, and C sizes and got the C size.
In the aeron domain - with your desk - look at https://store.hermanmiller.com/office/stools/aeron-work-stool/100098448.html
For that $500 price point - you might be able to find it - For example https://www.madisonseating.com has a number that are at that price.
One of my brothers has this, I found it to be pretty comfortable:

I got this last week. It's good for me. Got minor arthritis in my back.
I bought my wife the Staples Hyken and it's a really good chair too :)
Edit: added link
I'm no expert, so take this with a grain of salt. Not the "best" but I've heard that it's very good for the price:

Possibly something you can pick up at Staples if you live in a place with one nearby.
I work about 10 hours a day at a computer, and prefer to stand for most of it. I use one of these, but there are a lot of types at different price points.
