1) There's better options; that bundle basically charges you $5 for a mount/cosmetic gear and some XP boosts you'll get 3 of within an hour or two of doing story.
2) It activates when you buy it. The other (better) options off Amazon and Origin give you a code you enter - sub starts when you redeem it.
3) Best deal is $40 for 3 months playtime off Amazon as it gives you extra free cartel coins that you can use to buy things you really want.
4) If you are trying SWtOR I'd suggest playing it free for a bit - see if you like it before spending money on a sub.
I mean, they're right - it was your choice to use the name and it is your right to change it. You definitely won't get a free name change if you are aggressive with them, but you can potentially ask for escalation - admit that you know it's your fault and there are in game options, but that will take some time and you're hoping they can cut you some slack. Try calling them (assuming you're a subscriber).
But ultimately, yeah, you're most likely going to need to purchase a rename. They do go on sale, and make sure you have a security key attached to your account so you get more coins.
If you're going to stay subscribed anyway, you can buy the 90 Day Bundle from Amazon which is the same cost as subbing through the game, but comes with 2400 extra coins which you can use to buy the rename.
Also buy this if you can. It gives you 3 months and quite a bit more cc than origin. You can buy every 3 months and apply the new code each time. Actually you can buy it twice and apply the codes back to back for 6 months of time added.
Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne – Amazon Premium Pack [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vJSFBbD61BSF8
I would go for the ones sold by Amazon. The best bundle is the Knights of the Eternal Throne 90 day bundle, same price as subbing for 90 days but you get bonus coins as well.
There are sometimes problems with the site. I recommend if it's available to you to purchase game time off Amazon (This bundle is the best deal in the US, same price as 90 days but includes 2400 cartel coins).
Could always grab the Amazon 90 day bundle if you don't plan on cancelling your sub anytime soon, that'll give you 2400 coins to play around with right away and just extend your sub 90 days.
If you haven't yet, get the amazon 90d one for $40;
3 months sub (inc all expansions, outlander token, etc) + 2,400 extra CC + swoop bike
The premium pack is just a 30 day subscription with a set of Hoth thermal armor and a Tauntaun mount, for $5 more. Those are purely cosmetic and offer no in game advantage, so it's up to you if it's worth $5.
I always recommend the 90 day Amazon pack which is the same price as a 90 day subscription but comes with a few perks like extra cartel coins.
Sub and token thingy (one per account total!) Is just part of a 30d sub. You can get that for $5 less by getting a recurring 1m, then canceling it a week later, or the amazon pack.
Amazon is 3 months + extra CC for $40
Take a look at this deal first
$39.99 - 90 days - 2,400 Cartel Coins as well as some other goodies.
Can only get this deal once every 6 months but it's a good deal to start with.
It's an EA Amazon Bundle.
The most active servers would be Harb and Ebon Hawk. They've removed the focuses (PvP/PvE/RP) and made PvP/PvE phases on each server, so you can do either anywhere now. From what I see though, the PvP instances are far emptier.
If you plan to sub, I recommend the Amazon bundle; 3 months + coins for $40. After that there are 2 2month packs from origin and a new one on swtor.com
As others have said, the Light v Dark event starts soon, so no point wasting time leveling toons now. I would say make a toon on a couple servers and just see what the populations are like so you don't waste time once it starts hopping servers. Getting to 10 is dead easy, even without xp boosts, so it won't take you long to hit fleet.
If you subscribe for one month, you get all the content released up to that point permanently. So you would get Makeb, Shadow of Revan and KOTFE in it's entirety.
We don't know much about the Shae Vizla subscriber reward, but there is a good chance that it will be like Niko Ocarr, where there is a short cutscene meeting her and recruiting her. It will also be like Niko where the only way to get her is to be a sub, no other options.
Companions are all relatively homogenized at this point so she'll just be another companion.
What I would recommend would be to get the Amazon KOTFE bundle - $40 for cartel coins and 90 days of sub access. This will give you all of KOTFE, have you subbed in time for the pre-KOTET sub rewards, and then give you KOTET as well (which is supposedly only 9 chapters).
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/
I really, really recommend only using cartel coins to unlock items in collections. Unless you have a ton of coins like /u/SirUrza says, collections unlocks and server transfers are the only things that you can ONLY use cartel coins for - everything else you can use credits.
Also doubling "Don't buy coins." If you want some coins to throw around and plan on staying a sub, I'd recommend this pack from Amazon. Same price as a 3 month sub, but you also get extra cartel coins.
Honestly, buy from Amazon. Same price as a 3 month from the website but comes with extra stuff including cartel coins.
This is the bundle from amazon, and yes a much better value for the money.
Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne – Amazon Premium Pack {Online Game Code}
As others have mentioned, that's a ridiculously low offer. You may need to bite the bullet and purchase some cartel coins with real money. Or...
Attach a security key to your account, which will give you 100CC/month even if you're not a sub.
Purchase the 90-day Amazon Bundle and use the 2400 CC to buy Treek.
Wait for a sale. Very occasionally they put Treek on sale for a much lower amount. I remember her costing 400CC once.
Amazon deal is pretty good. For $39.99 you get.
-90-Days of Prepaid Premium Game Time
-2,400 Cartel Coins
-KOTOR-Inspired Swoop Bike, the Kakkran Daggerstar
Ah I found that amazon one for the US store, you mean this one? Could always wait to see if it goes on sale and pick it up using my cousins account from the states maybe. Thanks! :)
EDIT: Report of it not working a second time at the 12 month mark so be aware it may or may not work the second time. Here is a comments from some one where it didn't work second time:
Alortania
>Of note... I tried to get another one 12m after buying my first and it wouldn't let me use it.
>Friend got an awesome Christmas gift XD
So be aware until we get more people confirm it worked for them at 12 month mark or didn't work for them there is a chance it could not.
No promotions, best value is the Amazon 90 day bundle that is the same cost as buying from SWTOR.com but includes extra cartel coins.
Hello, I am a returning player. Last time I played was during the first year of launch, so 10 years ago?
I am thinking of buying this amazon premium pack https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Star%2Bwars%2Bthe%2Bold%2Brepublic&qid=1553991217&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1
I really don't want to play the sith assassin I had, I would like to play a tank either Jedi Guardian or Sith Juggernaut. So I am curious if that pack comes with a character boost or if I can buy one with the 2200 cartel coins it brings. Also, I noticed there are boosts that I can pick when making a new character, either level 60 or 65. What are those? I want to boost and then do all the solo content, then eventually queue up for some dungeons and raids if able. Thanks.
Your money's not gone, it's in escrow and will be at your disposal if you sub or use escrow unlocks.
If you want to come back, the best all-in-one deal as far as time and expansion packs goes is here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8NURF8?pldnSite=1
If you haven't resubbed yet and decide to get Shadow of Revan (and are in the US), I'd recommend the Amazon Bundle.
It gets you the expansion, 60 days of sub, and 2400 cartel coins for $40USD.
You get to keep the expansions that are out.
HOWEVER! The only thing you get in this pack beyond a regular 1 month sub is the mount, armor, and xp boosts.
You decide if that's worth $5
Also check out the 3m Amazon pack for $40 that gives you a mount and extra cc (a far better deal IMHO)
There's been problems with their site the last few days - if you're in the US, I'd recommend buying the 90 day subscription from Amazon since it's the same cost as subbing via the website, but you get additional cartel coins.
> It seems silly that they have a full micro transaction store and yet still a $15 sub.
you can get a mountain of content without subscribing.
or buying any of the cc (mostly cosmetics, a few qol) for that matter. - by RollWave_
I dont have an actual AWNSER. But dont other $15 a month games also have bid ol Microtransaction shops? I know wow has one for mounts and such. FFXIV also has the mogstation selling the same services as mounts, appearance changes, and things like that. SWTORs is only more agressive because its primarily Free to Play, doesn't mean i necessarily like it, at least let me equip Purples smh. - by ItsTrucy
I'm pretty sure it's Amazon right now. - by RaulenAndrovius
Hello.
You are not alone. There are a few people out there, not able to buy something from the SWToR-Store. To enable the buy option, you need to get in contact with EA in that case. There is maybe a problem with your bank, or with the EA payment service.
But you can buy Game-Time-Cards (GTC) from resellers. There are some legal resellers, like Amazon. You will find many more, like MMOGA, Kinguin or whatever they are called. Use these on your own risk.On Amazon.com , you will find that offer: SWTOR Premium Pack (/w aff-link from swtorDATA)*.Sorry for using this link. If you use that, you support swtorDATA with no extra costs. But i needed to copy that link, because i'm using the german Amazon page.
On Amazon you'll find 60days GTC, too. Up to 180days. But i don't know, how it is on your local Amazon.
By buying this, you get a Code. Here you login in your SWToR Account and enter the code in the "redeem a code" field. So you add your gametime.
The good thing about the Premium Pack is, that you get 90days gametime, all DLC up to KOTET and 2400 Cartel Coins you can spend on the cartel market. And you get a mount. Not my favourite, but okay. So i would buy this.
*i'm in no relation with swtordata
Play as much as you can without a sub. Once you sub, unsubbing really highlights the limitations of F2P/Preferred. I enjoyed the heck out of the game before I subbed. After I subbed it was a whole new wonderful experience. But... when sub ran out, playing was rough. The best way to sub is using the Amazon bundle. It gives you a lot of cash shop currency on top of the months of playtime: Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne – Amazon Premium Pack [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rGMhCbBZ9CD1V
Definitely for sure. There’s months and months of playable content.
This is gonna be an odd one, my prize of choice would be an amazon bundle that contains 3 months of subscription time to an MMO:
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8?th=1
If that isn't possible, then Diablo III: Battle Chest (even better if it includes the separate Rise of the Necromancer DLC, but I might be pushing my luck here) on Battle.net
Incredibly generous giveaway, thank you for doing it.
It's frequently an issue, try different browsers. Alternatively, if you are good with 3 months the Amazon 3 month deal is the same price as subbing through the game but includes extra goodies.
It gives you a meh armor set, a mount you can earn for free (couple versions) and XP boosts you earn by doing story... Everything else is what you get with any sub.
What's the Amazon pack cost in poland? In the US it's the one with the best cost/benefit.
See that posted a lot. I generally recommend just buying them off Amazon. Depending on how many coins you are looking to buy you can get 2400 extra for free on top of the monthly grant if you buy this 90 day subscription from Amazon
I don't think I've ever seen a discount on subscriptions or CC. That being said, however, Amazon sells a special time card that gives you 90 days plus 2400 cartel coins for $40. This is slightly less than the official SWTOR price of $42 for a 90-day subscription, and you essentially get the cartel coins for free.
It's always been a crapshoot subbing from the site, which is bizarre. I honestly recommend going with a sub from Origin directly or the Amazon 90 Day Bundle, same price as subbing on the site with bonus coins/mount.
1) I don't think so, but I believe if you go to a vendor and hover over the item it will show you the sell price. Cartel market / cartel pack items can't be sold to vendors.
2) As far as I understand it will use your pre-bought time first before charging you monthly. As far as I know there are no perks EXCEPT for this bundle pack which is the best deal you can get but it is one-time. Some of the cartel coin cards have a bonus pet, but not the time cards.
3) Yep cosmetic. Except weapons.. they are wierd. Sometimes weapons are cosmetic sometimes they aren't.
Glad you're enjoying our subreddit so far!
okay, but how do I start KOTFE/KOTET? I bought this bundle. just so I could use better weapons, (they required ROTHC) but have not started any expansions yet, because I am doing my class story.
Historically buying a sub from the page has been quirky. My recommendation? Buy it from Amazon - you get the same price with added bonuses. If you're looking for a 90 day sub the Eternal Throne Pack is a really good deal, 90 days with extra cartel coins and a mount.
I never recommend subbing directly from SWTOR.com. There are far better deals on Amazon and Origin. The best deal right now is the Amazon KOTET Bundle which is the same price for 90 days as subbing via SWTOR.com, but also gives you bonus cartel coins and a free mount. :D
Yeap, same with the Amazon bundle. The origin bundle has the advantage of being reusable, the amazon is a one time use until they update it.
Pretty sure any game package you pay money for these days will have at least a month of subscription included.
This Amazon bundle gives you 3 months game time and $24 worth of Cartel Market currency, for $40, or you can just sub for a month if you want to spend less.
The best bundle is the amazon one: Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire Starter Pack - Amazon Bundle
https://smile.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
You get 90 days for $40 which is already cheaper, plus you get 2400 coins up front and some pet (bleh).
However, you can only use it once. So if that is the pack you previously bought, no good :(
I'm guessing they will replace that bundle soon with a new one for the KOET
It is a pretty good deal, I'm going to wait and see how the Amazon bundle gets updated first. My guess is that the speeder is included because there's no speeder mission in the beginning of KoTET like there is in KotFE.
For just a bit more, you can go to Amazon and get a pretty amazing deal.
This gives you a 3 month sub, 2400 Cartel Coins and access to all the content. Plus you get another 500 Cartel Coins each month from the sub itself.
That's only $10 more than the 60 day sub and cheaper than buying 3 months separately.
You can NOT sub via steam. I have tried. The game isn't listed. Amazon has a good sub card deal: The time is the same price as the SWTOR website, and you get an extra 2400cc You also receive 90 days of Prepaid Subscription Game Time and 2,400 Cartel Coins to ensure you start with all the gear and equipment you need to get off to a fast start. Get it all in one bundle for $39.99 USD and save more than 35%† off the retail price of each bought separately. https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames-download&ie=UTF8&qid=1467361993&sr=1-2&keywords=star+wars+the+old+republic
Correct. If you sub you get everything released to that point and everything that is released up until the day your sub expires. I'd recommend the Amazon bundle - 90 days of sub (So you'll get all of KOTFE) along with a bunch of coins for $40. https://smile.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465665794&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=swtor+kotfe+starter
It's not the game time cards, it's the Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire Starter Pack - Amazon Bundle. You get 90 days of subscription, 2400 cartel coins, and access to all released content up through whatever the currently-released KotFE chapter is. It's a one-time purchase; you can only use this bundle on an account once (i.e., can't purchase and two to get 180 days and 4800 cc on one account).
You can - subscribe, make sure it goes through, and then the next day you un-subscribe.
You'll still have the game time you paid for, but you won't be auto-billed for another 30 days when that time runs out.
I'm not sure but they might also still offer the 60-day one-time game time purchase.
For a slightly better deal--you're paying more but get more cartel coins, you could also buy a Bundle
And I don't mind additional questions. If I don't answer, it's because I'm busy, but I'll usually try to answer.
Get the amazon bundle, it's totally worth it
90 days sub and $20 of cartel coins for $40.
Best deal. Only usable once, unfortunately..
Subscribing is the ONLY way to get the expansions. So sub up for a month and boom you have the expansions.
That said, the most bang for your buck remains the Amazon Starter Pack Bundle. It's a one time purchase, costs more then a one month sub, but is an incredible value. For $40 you get 3 months worth of sub time ($45) and 2400 cartel coins ($20.)
IIRC - Pre-ordering gave you:
The 30-days of free gametime, were applied to the very first month the game launched, so that 30-days is long gone.
The Amazon KOTFE Bundle is afaik the best deal around at the moment.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
You get:
It's $65-ish worth of stuff, for $40.
Something to note: I do believe you can only redeem this code once per account.
I don't know if you can buy this where you are, but this KotFE Starter Pack on Amazon is a good deal. You can only use it once per account though. It's a digital code you are buying so there's no need to wait for shipping. Another alternative is finding the 60 day time cards. They can be rebought and applied to an account indefinitely of course, but they are physical cards that take time to be shipped. Amazon sells those as well.
Question from a near-complete newbie here! I started an account on F2P over the weekend and have made my way to level 8 and have been really enjoying my time so far. In order to upgrade to sub (and at the least leave my account at preferred if I'm not a huge fan after a bit), is this deal worth it? Can I use this on the same account I've been using with F2P or do I have to create a brand new account to use it?
You could just buy the Amazon KOTFE bundle, which is three months subscription and some cartel coins for $40. Just use a friend's American address as the shipping address.
This is the best I've found right now (Amazon link) 90days game-time (45.00 roughly) + 2400 CC (19.99) = 64.99 ... and it only costs $39.99!!! It's cheaper than just the time-card itself. G2A is also pretty good (usually) but this beats their prices even for what you get.
I wait until deals like <strong>this</strong> show up. Then I'm actually saving on what I would normally spend on 3 months of sub ($15/month) and get some extra CC out of it (normally 500 per month).
pvp servers are still very empty. but it is cheap - 90cc to transfer a character. it shouldn't be a big deal. here's the run down.
here what could you do - if money is not an issue, spend $40 for this. it is the best deal atm. you could also choose to pay just for the old expansion - $20. but i would recommend the former rather than the latter.
Are you F2P or planning on staying subbed until SoR? If you're a sub, you might as well get the amazon bundle pack. For $40 you get two months sub, SOR, and 2400 cartel coins. Considering subbing for two months is $30, that's 2400 coins and SoR. If you're into lore, then you're going to want to play SoR sometime, and this way you'll be prepared at 60 when the expansion drops to jump right into that story.
If you are willing to wait, when KoTFE comes out in October, all subs will get both SoR and RoTHC for free (plus all the release chapters of KoTFE). Currently, subs only get RoTHC for free.
If you are not willing to wait, you can buy SoR for $20, or there's a really good deal on Amazon for 2 month sub time (includes RoTHC), SoR, and 2400 CC ($70 value) for $40. Here's a link to that: http://www.amazon.com/SWTOR-Amazon-STAR-Bundle-Online/dp/B00T8NURF8
If you're gonna buy it, buy this:
It's $40.00, sure, but it is 60 days of game time, SOR, and 2400 Cartel Coins.
It's a solid deal.
I assume you don't have access to any expansions that were previously released?
If so...
Anyone who plans to join or return to SWTOR and doesn’t have Shadow of Revan yet I highly recommend to buy this bundle on amazon. It is the same bundle Bioware used to sell in March as part of the promotion “Choose Your Path.” Basically, you get SoR for free if we consider the overall price of this pack. Remember that you can use this bundle only once! You can made up an American adress by using google maps and purchase this bundle even if you live outside the USA.
The cost of the bundle is $40.
If you buy the stuff listed below separately, you have to pay $70.
So you save up $30 in total.
2-month subscription (worth $30)
Shadow of Revan (worth $20)
2400 cartel coins (worth $20)
Please also note that you get your complimentary cc reward as usual. So at the end of the second month you have 3400cc in total. It is a good deal to sub now instead of waiting until October because subscribers get the Epic Story Boost that multiplies class mission XP by 12 and there are multiple rewards scheduled for subs within the next months.

Yes, there have been changes to the classes. We don't have skill trees anymore. Now we have Disciplines where you can choose a few skills from Utility tab but the rest is set in stone. Check the links which the helper bot provided.

i re-subbed for the 12x xp. since i don't have hours to play it gives me a nice boost to level characters and even have alts. i'd say sub now. the extra couple months to try all the classes is well worth it. if you've got the money, there's a bundle on Amazon for $40, which is a great deal. 2400 Cartel Coins, 60 days of sub, and SoR. alternatively, you can sub now, get to 55, try alts and such while waiting for KotFE, and then try SoR.
i've heard GSF hasn't been doing so well, but don't quote me on it. i haven't played it.

Wouldn't this be a good thing to buy and use july 21?
I'd recommend the Amazon bundle. It comes with both expansions, 60 days of sub, and 2400 Cartel Coins (the micro-transaction currency) for $40USD.
If you are not in the US, I believe you can just enter a US address and the purchase will go through.
$15 a month, with decreasing amount per how many months you pay for at a time... OR if you want to spend near the same amount of money, if you like the game enough, there is The Amazon bundle for $40, which includes 2 months sub, all the expacs, as well as like $20 worth of Cartel Coins. Well worth doing it with the amazon bundle if you like the game though...
No, hutt is seperate.
If you want shadows there's another deal you can get through amazon for $40 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8NURF8/). This includes 60 days game time, the normal 500 CC/month for the two months subscribed, 2400 bonus CC and SOR.
You can get both (But I believe you need to apply the standalone first). This would get you both expansions, three months sub, 500 cc/month, 2400 base CC.
Amazon also has boxed SWTOR copies availiable for $7.99. Not instant but cheaper than the $11 you've listed and get the manual with it :)
They also appear to have two sealed collectors editions availiable, but those are... substantially more expensive ($240)
All prices in USD, none of the links are affiliate links or anything so go nuts. If you roll on The Bastion drop me a line if you have any questions/need a hand.
yeah the preferred status is great for just going through initial story possibly but after you've done a class story its worth the sub. Now have you bought a bundle that included the expansion pack and the sub and cartel coins before?
That's a decent option if you decide to resub or planning to get cartel coins as well as sub.
It'll only work if you haven't bought the bundle deal from amazon or from swtor.com before. Once per an account as it acts as entitlements so if you bought a bundle from either before you'll have to use it on a new account.
It's the same price on Amazon as it is from Bioware directly.
It unlocks all current expansions, gives you a free level 65 character token and a free walker mount for every character you have.
It does not change the status of free accounts though.
You can upgrade your account to "preferred" by buying cartel coins or buying the $5 digital deluxe upgrade. This removes or eases a lot of restrictions. I wont lie, free accounts are horrifically gimped. Preferred accounts are what "free" should have been but I think the reason for the paywall is to combat spammers.
Anyone wanting to experience the full unrestricted game should try the Amazon Premium pack. It's 3 months of subscription time, 2400 cartel coins and a pet for $40, which is $5 less than the cost of 3 months subscription time and the amount of coins you'd get from a $20 pack, so the whole thing is worth about $65. You can only use the pack once per account. Everything else advertised for the pack is stuff everyone gets for subscribing their first time.
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
I'd recommend saving any cartel coins you have for legacy ("Y" shortcut Key -> "GLOBAL UNLOCKS" left side menu -> "Other" left side menu -> "Convenience" right side) unlocks, specifically rocket boost and improved mounting. Aside from that, unlocking inventory space (for the entire account, not just one character) is a good use for them. There's some other convenience legacy unlocks you might like, specifically Legacy Travel, but I only bought the first one since being subbed reduces the cooldown to 6 minutes which is maybe 30 seconds longer than you might spend on a NPC conversation in-between quick travels.
It's worth noting that subs get 500 cartel coins free each month and you can get 100 coins free each month regardless of whether you sub or not, by using their authenticator app. You can also get some coins for certain achievements. The easiest one to do is the one you get (20 coins each) for completing the starter planet for each of the 8 classes.
It'd be wise to look at cartel coins as being worth $0.01 USD each. So, if you pay 100 coins for an unlock, you effectively spent $1 on it. It helps put things in perspective, so you don't just waste them on some cosmetic junk or useless unlocks (some really are useless.) I mean, they have a lightsaber (all cartel gear has the same stats and provides no real benefit in combat by itself, you have to buy, with in-game credits, or craft mods to make them useful) that costs 5,700 coins, effectively $57 USD. I just can't see spending $57 on a cosmetic weapon but I'm sure some people do it. Sure, it's cool looking but it's just not worth that for most people. They'll also charge you probably around $4 or $5 in coins to unlock it for your entire account, since cartel items typically only unlock for the character that it was bound to, even though that adds it to your collection. They do like to nickel and dime cosmetics. That said, most unlocks can be bought with credits, instead of cartel coins. The problem is Free accounts have a credit cap of 200k and Preferred have a cap of 350k, so any unlock more expensive than that will require you to either be subbed or to spend cartel coins. Since, you can get 100 coins free each month, even on a Free account, it's still possible to get all of the unlocks without spending any money, eventually. You might have a really long wait trying to unlock everything at the rate of 100 coins a month though.
The biggest cartel coin pack you can normally buy is $40 for 5,500 coins but Amazon has a $100 pack for 14,500 coins, which is 750 more than you'd get buying 2.5 x $40 packs. So, it's not that big of a bargain compared to the $40 pack, which gives about 700 bonus coins compared to the $20 pack of 2400 coins. Ultimately, you shouldn't waste money on cartel coins directly. You're better off sticking to the free ones and the ones you get with a sub. The one exception would be maybe spending coins on a mount with "exceptional" resistance to being dismounted. Even then, it's probably best not to waste your money on it.
As a bit of a side note, you get a free pet when you buy cartel coin packs on Amazon but they look very much like the pet you get with their premium pack with the 3 months of sub time.
Finally, leveling up your legacy is super slow, since it's based off of a percentage of the exp you get. If you don't mind spoiling the story for yourself, you could use a lvl 65 boosted character to speed up leveling your legacy and as a quick way to get into higher level crafting, for profit. That said, expect some major spoilers, if you do. It's generally recommended that most people should avoid using boosted characters due to the way it makes a lot of story decisions for you but, if you know what you're getting into and want to anyways, it's your time to spend how you want.
It's generally recommended you either level a character to 60/65 before using a boost. The reason is because boosted characters don't count towards race or class story unlocks and you can't go back and complete them because they're auto-completed for you. There's 8 class stories, 4 for each faction, that you have to complete to unlock legendary status.
These are all the things I wished I'd known when I started.
WARNING
I thought the same as you. I bought the Amazon 3m sub (extra coins, cheaper than 3x 1m sub, etc) thinking the same way as you. I've been sub'd ever since. Ops are addictive... and once you have all the perks thinking of going back is cringy.
BEFORE
ONCE YOU SUB
Right Before Sub Ends
Once it ends
You can buy 1 month and cancel it a week later, making it an even smaller investment ($15).
Otherwise, the Amazon one is the best deal ($40 for 90d + extra CC), followed by the Origin one ($30 for 60d + extra CC). These also sometimes go on sale, so watch them around black friday/cyber monday and christmas. I think I bought my Origin a year or two ago for just over $20.
his one just charges you $5 for an armor set and mount you'll probably not use.
Best deal is the 3m amazon bundle (1/account) for $40. This gives you 3m (normally $42 if you get the 3m recurring, or $45 if you get 1m recurring) and extra cartel coins.
Origin 2m is next for $30. This one gives you 2m (so same as recurring 1m) + some extra CC.
I personally don't see why you would get the united forces pack, as it costs $5 more than a plain recurring and only gives you cosmetics (mount and armor set, neither of which are amazing) and some boosts you'll earn quickly through story, anyway. All other items noted there come with any sub.
> what would be your recommendation for a one time sub
Well if you just want to do the straight up sub, go to your account on swtor.com and do that $15 one month sub and then cancel it in a few days so it doesn't reoccur.
Otherwise I have 2 links for you if you're in the US...
There are 2 bundles that that are quite good for a first time subscription....
Amazon Bundle - 3 months ($45) + 2400 cartel coins ($20) + minipet for $40, not a bad way to start off.
EA's Bundle - 2 months ($30) + 1050 cartel coins (approx $10) + minipet for $30, not as good but a good follow up.
Both bundles you can only apply to your account once and while they do offer multiple months of sub time, their overall value is great.
> What about the cartel coins would they be of any use in this?
Unfortunately not, but once you get to 65, if you wanted to do occasionally more pvp or a few raids, you could buy the weekly pass for them.. though that is such a suboptimal way to do it.
As far as what to spend cartel coins on in general...
Go to the Legacy window...
Global Unlocks:
Convenience:
All 3 levels of Fleet Pass.
All 3 levels of Legacy Travel.
These will allow you to use the quick travel ability and fleet pass without a cooldown (as a sub or as a preferred player.) So you can always quick travel back to the mission hubs and you can always jump back to fleet.
One of these two perks reduces the cooldown of the various Priority Transport abilities in the Character Perks section, which are each handy for end game content depending on what your guild likes to do.
Also under this category is Rocket boost. These count as a mount, but you can Rocket Boost in places that don't allow mounts. Super handy for getting around. You can go with 1 unlock or all 3, depends on how often you use it, I go with all 3.
All 3 of these are 1 time unlocks that once unlocked apply to ALL your characters.
Lastly, I suggest looking at the Character Perks section. These are character specific, so you'll have to purchase them multiple times.
Things to look at for endgame...
All of the priority transports are good, but Rishi and Odessen are particularly useful since there's no way to get to either planet without using your ship. In the fleet, next to each hanger bay before going through the green door, there's a terminal that lets you go to a lot of the other planets.
Also useful is the Field Respecialization option. It's a respec. Some classes like the Marauder do better in operations if you switch from being one spec to the other. Again, an end game unlock, but something to remember if you stick around.
If you plan on crafting, under companions...
Legacy of Altruism and Legacy of Persuasion are must buys for getting your companions to craft better.
If you stay F2P something you may want to look at as well is the Artifact Authorization Pass on the Cartel Market, this will enable you to wear Purple quality gear, something you'll see a lot of at 65.
I think that's everything. :)
If you want to go the ranged pistoleer route, you could try Smuggler/Gunslinger or Bounty Hunter/Mercenary (of the two the Hunter is arguably easier, since it can wear heavier armour, has some limited self-healing, and doesn't rely on the "cover" mechanic as much as the Smuggler).
If you want ranged-with-a-lightsaber, there's the Jedi Consular/Sage and Sith Inquisitor/Sorcerer, both of which play something like a KOTOR Consular - you carry a lightsaber, but in combat you rely on your Force powers.
If you want to get into full-on saber-swinging, I'd recommend a Jedi Knight/Guardian or Sith Warrior/Juggernaut - they're both all about laying down the beating with the glowstick, and they're new-player-friendly, with lots of survivability (their dual-wielding cousins - Sentinels and Marauders - require a lot more babysitting).
If you want to check out the game, check out the weekly referral post for a referral link - gets you a week of subscriber-level access and some goodies. If you then decide you want to drop some cash, the current Amazon bundle is a pretty good deal - 90 days of subscription, plus some bonus cartel coins for 40 bucks.
If you want a short term sub, Amazon 3m or the Origin 2m delux pack are your best bets, with the Amazon being the best bang for your buck.
If you're okay with the longer one, the 6m recurring one on swtor.com works out to cost just as much per month as the Amazon one, after you've already used that (amazon still gives you the bonus CC, so still a better initial purchase).
Get the sub before the 10th (technically the 14th, but you don't want to miss out because of a stupid glitch on their end, which I've heard happen to subs that sub the day before or day of) to get the new sub reward companion.
1month sub gets you all the content available at the time. This means everything up to the latest chapter of KotFE, 65lvl cap, etc.
Here is a guide that tells you how best to move from sub to pref; I would advise reading over it for hints on how best to use your capless credit time to make your pref experience more enjoyable.
get a referral link once you sub; it will give you some unlocks for when you get back to preferred and will give you a free toon transfer in case you want to jump servers (either because you prefer to play on another one or just want to duplicate your legacy). These now cost 1000CC. Full details on referral links can be found here. In case you need one, here is a link to the community post thread full of them.
Last chapter of KotFE is August (so wait until august if you want to do the 1month sub)
Origin has a 2m bundle and Amazon has a 3m bundle... both of which give you extra coins, the amazon one also reduces the monthly cost. Each can be used once per account.
Activate your security key option from the website; it's 100cc/month, even once your sub runs out (or if you don't have one)
sure
Also, bits of random advice since you don't want to sub (at least not for good);
Get a security key (through the website)... it gives even f2p 100CC/month
If you're going to sub, do it NOW; they're giving 700 extra CC to anyone sub'd by the 7th of July (tomorrow); either do a recurring 1m sub and cancel it a week before it repeats OR (if you're willing to spend more for a better deal) get the Origin or Amazon packs (2 or 3 months, respectively, each with extra CC attached and the bonus of BW/EA not having your credit card info).
When you sub, get a referral link (PM me if you want mine); it gives you some unlocks that are helpful once the sub ends (like the 3rd crew skill slot for each toon). Here are the details about ref links
Plan ahead, and use your time wisely. Here is a guide you might find helpful. Also, despite the recent inflation, look for unlocks on the GTN before buying them with CC.
Get into a guild you like; they can let you play extra PvP matches for free via premades and many are willing to lend credits to get around the credit cap for pref/f2p people (if you find a steal on the GTN, for example, but it's over your cred cap).
I think you're mixing it up:
Amazon has a bundle with 90 days and 2400CC: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8?th=1
Origin has a bundle with 60 days and 1050CC: https://www.origin.com/dnk/en-us/store/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/deluxe-pack
It's actually on Origin. Amazon deal is 40$ for I believe 90 days + coins. A: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8 O: https://www.origin.com/en-ie/store/buy/star-wars-the-old-republic/pc-download/bundle/deluxe-pack
Well, TBH if you want the most out of the game (for the least amount of money) I would suggest following this guide and investing in a month or two of subscription; if you do more than 1 month ($15) then I'd say get the $30 2month pack from origin or the $40 3month pack from Amazon since both packs will come with extra cartel coins (besides the 500 you get monthly by being a sub) to buy unlocks.
The reason it's better to go for a sub (at least 1 month) is that it opens up ALL the expansions available to date. Since KotFE is nearly complete, assuming you sub through the day the last chapter comes out (that would be August, I'm almost sure) you will get to keep all of KotFE and all that it entails... even after your sub runs out. So that's lvls 51-65, all of Hutt Cartel, Shadow of Revan and Knights of the Fallen Empire for an extra $10 (assuming you do one month only). It also gives you 4 weeks (5 if you get a referral link) of time to get money, but unlocks for credits (and other stuff that's over 350k), enjoy warzones and ops and so on.
Now, to answer your question about differences between free and preferred, this lays it all out quite nicely.
Some highlights include a higher credit cap (350 vs 200k), more free character slots (6 vs 2 per server), ability to trade with other players and I think you get to keep your cargo hold access and some other things like chat restrictions lifted, etc. Also, get a security key... it lets even F2P accounts get 100CC/month for using it, and makes your account harder to hack :)
> If I buy this sub model and during my subscription I choose to cancel my credit/debit card info will I be able to remain a subscriber for the remainder of my 30 days that I paid $14.99 for?
Yeap.
> Do they take away your subscriber status if you cancel your recurring subscription?
You're a sub until the 30 days runs out.
> I only want to do this recurring subscription model one time because its the cheapest.
The absolute best value if you're planning on having a multimonth subscription is the amazon bundle. You can use that once on your account. After that it's the Origin bundle which can be used once on your account every 6 months.
First, try it for free, see if you like it.
Once you decide to sub, I suggest the Amazon 90d pack - $40 and gives you extra CC. This is a once per account (per 6m, but I bought one a year later and still couldn't use it) thing, so a wise investment.
After that there's the Origin 60d one that's full price $30 but adds a bit of extra CC as well. The SWtOR one makes you pay more for a mount and armor set, both of which you'll soon not need since you'll have better ones. Also one per 6mon.
If you're looking for a long-term sub, after buying those two the best deal is a straight 180d recurring (you'll be charged $78 lump sum ever 6months), since it gives the most monthly coins (600 vs 500) and costs the least per month ($13 vs $15 for 30d)
If you can afford it/willing to invest a bit more, $40 gets you 90d off amazon. this one includes extra cartel coins.
Next best is 60d for $30 off Origin that gives you fewer extra CC.
The 1m sub is $15 and you can cancel it a few days/a week later and not get charged more.
The United Forces pack just gives you a mount and armor, plus some XP boosts you'll not need (leveling is stupid fast + you get these while doing story for free... though IDK if non-subs do as well). IMHO not worth $5 extra.
If you want to spend a bit more, the Origin deluxe pack is a decent deal for $22.50. https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/buy/star-wars-the-old-republic/pc-download/bundle/deluxe-pack
You get 60 days of time, 1050 coins and a pet.
If you want to spend even more, Amazon has a great starter pack for $40 http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
It includes 90 days of time, 2400 coins and a pet.
If you start kotfe your class story + SoR/SoR prelude is locked for that character (it auto-completes). You can still go back and do Ilum, oricon and makeb, but that's it (IIRC).
As for codes, look out closer to christmas (maybe monday, too, but doubtful) and there might be price drops on bundles off amazon/origin, if you're willing to spend a little money, and life day (around christmas) should have lots of freebies from it and the 6th anniversary (though not story content).
If you sub once all currently released story becomes free for you to keep (get to lvl to 70, and all the expansions)... so if you can spend $15 to get it I highly suggest it (or the packs above, that give a better bang for your buck).
As for characters, f2p get 4 per server.
Are you in the US? I would buy a sub through Amazon - 90 days or Origin - 60 days.
Hi all! Returning player here.
Toward the end of 2016 I bought the origin deluxe pack. https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/deluxe-pack
Today, I want to buy this one from amazon (For the 3 month subscription and Cartel Coins) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8NURF8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3ODHND3J0WMC8&th=1
My question, Can I still buy the Amazon one and apply it to my account, Even with already having the similar similar pack from origin applied to my account?
There's also this thing. It comes out to slightly cheaper than the 3-month sub with $20 worth of CCs added on, limit one per six months. Also no Paypal because Amazon.
WARNING
I thought the same as you. I bought the Amazon 3m sub (extra coins, cheaper than 3x 1m sub, etc) thinking the same way as you. I've been sub'd ever since. Ops are addictive... and once you have all the perks thinking of going back is cringy.

ONCE YOU SUB
Right Before Sub Ends
Once it ends
If you're not interested in endgame (you will be ;P) I'd suggest getting an amazon/origin bundle and subbing for a couple months.
Save your CC's until you really know what you want to spend them on.
Once your sub lapses, you'll know more about what features/perks of being a sub you really care about, and if the contrast (being pref) is enough to sub on a recurring plan or if you just want to buy certain unlocks and sub intermittently.
Now Here's a paste of my "short sub guide";

Well, I'm not sure about buy-1, get-1 specifically. But there is the Origin bundle, which gives you all of the expansions, a 60 day sub, and 1,050 Cartel Coins for $22.50 (was $19.99 a few days ago, I think).
There is also the Amazon bundle, which is $39.99 for 3 months of sub and 2000 Cartel Coins.
Both are good deals, atm. Be aware that if you buy the Origin bundle, it can take up to 2 business days for them to approve your order (they do this as an anti-fraud measure).
Amazon bundle or Origin pack, best rewards + sub time for less cash (can only use each once!)

https://www.origin.com/en-br/store/buy/star-wars-the-old-republic/pc-download/bundle/deluxe-pack
Here's a guide I found that might help...
Also, if you've not been subbed for a while, get a referral link as it gets you unlocks and an extra week for free.
And depending on how long you want to sub, Amazon and Origin have packs that will give you more CC and cost less /month than a straight sub (the cc you see there are the upfront; then you get the 500/month as usual).
You can get more coins for the security key as well (100/month), and people have said that works if you are subbed or f2p.
> Is this considered a good pack to go with for a noob?
The amazon bundle is by far the best one time purchase you can make for SWTOR. It can only be applied once to an account though. Once it runs out if you wish addition time EA's Origin sells a pack that's not quite as good but is better then a regular sub and is one time use only too.
> Also, is there anything in the Cartel Market that's considered a "must-have" (like a mount or something)?
Not necessarily on the cartel market. The mounts on the cartel market are really no different then the ones in the game, they just look different, but functionally they're no better.
If you're looking to spend those cartel coins on something I suggest any of the following...

If you stay F2P and let the sub run out something you may want to look at as well is the Artifact Authorization Pass on the Cartel Market, this will enable you to wear Purple quality gear, something you'll see a lot of at 65. Additional bank space and inventory unlocks aren't bad either.
Not sure what's wrong... might want to call customer service.
If you haven't been billed yet though, I'd suggest getting the amazon pack instead (or two-month pack from origin) as they give you extra coins for free vs a recurring monthly sub.
I would highly suggest to do NOTHING with those coins, at least not right away.
It sounds like you've been gone for a while, so I would suggest just playing as a preferred initially to get your bearings.
Take a couple days to figure out where you are, set up your UI, figure out if you want to continue with your existing characters or start over (you will probably want to start over anyway to get some of the freebies during the DvL event that is going on right now). The server you are on might be dead so figure out if you want to start over somewhere else.
After your get your bearings, you will want to use someone's referral link. The link will take you to your SWTOR account page and after you log in it will ask if you accept this person's referral. What will happen then is you will get 7 days of subscription access, along with a preferred friends bundle which every character you have or will ever create will always get. This is important because this gets you all 3 crew skills, an extra inventory module, I think the ability to display titles and one other thing (you can look on the sidebar for more information)
Finally after those 7 days you can decide if you want to subscribe for 1 month (this should unlock all the expansions and chapter 1-16 of KOTFE for you).
During this time you should just be playing and making money slowly. Don't unlock anything until your sub ends, but before your sub ends, every so often you should look in the GTN (auction house) for your account unlocks. Some of them you can buy with credits.
It was a year ago when I bought my Artifact Authorization (account) unlock, but I paid 8mil for mine (good luck finding one)
On a side note, instead of paying EA/BioWare directly for your 1 month subscription, there is a very good bundle you could get from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/)
Finally there are many different ways to find referral links to use. I'd suggest using one from a friend (if you happen to know one) or use one from someone that is willing to help you out in game for.
a bit of a followup, if you're planning a short term sub, I'd recommend getting the amazon or origin pack (3 or 2 months respectively) as they give you extra cartel coins and the amazon one also saves you a bit of money.
Also, here is a nice guide on how to make the time you're sub'd get you the best preferred experience once your sub time ends.
There are a few one time deals:
Realize that a normal $15 sub gives you 500 CC, but these deals give you extra CC on top of that.
If you haven't used it before and are looking to sub - I'd recommend going with this pack from Amazon. It's $40, gives you 3 months of sub and 2400 extra cartel coins.
If you only want 60 days, then I'd buy the Origin KOTET pack which is 60 days but also includes some extra cartel coins and a free mount.
The Amazon Premium Pack is pretty good, as you get 90 days plus 2400 cartel coins for the normal price of 90 days.
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
The Amazon Premium Pack is a pretty good deal, because not only do you get 90 days for $40 (slightly less than subscribing through swtor.com), you also get 2400 cartel coins.
It looks like an internal error on Bioware/EA servers. The Amazon or Origin bundle deals are far superior for your first sub.
There are restrictions on those, as they can only be used once per account each.
Here's the ones I've found. It is by far the best deal. I looked but could not find this deal in Canada, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, or Australia.
Amazon Pack - $39.99 for 3 months
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
United Kingdom £29.99 | Germany, EUR 39,99 | France, EUR 39,99
If you're looking to for the best deal in terms of cost to the amount of game time and CC you get the best deal is the Amazon Pack
For $40USD, the Amazon bundle gets you both expansions, 60 days of subscription, and 2400 Cartel Coins (the micro-transaction currency).
You can subscribe for $15USD and get the first expansion for free (this changes on October 27, 2015 when subscribers get the two expansions for free).
For $20USD, you can buy the second expansion, Shadow of Revan, and also get the first expansion, but no subscription time.
Not sure why it is happening, but if you're going to sub this is the best deal!
Two weeks in and this game is still providing quality content! Went through both Sith lines and now half way through the Jedi Knight class. The dark side choices on republic aren't actually too bad, but personally I can't wait to return to Empire.. that's my true home, heard great things about agent class. Had a bit of cartel points saved up for a while and with the amazon bundle I was able to get the new lightsaber that just recently came out... and man does it look amazing with a white-black crystal! This game is an amazingly true Star Wars experience and any Star Wars fan should at least sign up for the free bundle just to experience this amazing game and story. Previous subs should definitely come back for the free 7 days of subscription time and experience some of the new content- only takes 1 month of sub to unlock all new expansions!

Almost done with all my sub-50 characters now and wow, every class story has been pretty damn great! Trooper was a bit eh to be honest, but still had it's moments - especially with dark side choices hahaha. So excited to finally experience levels 50-70 soon!!! I started playing about 3 years ago but never actually went past level 51! Not sure what caused me to stop playing but I'm really glad I came back. There is so much content to discover and with the Star Wars lore combined with dark/light choices... it's just amazing. If you're thinking about trying this game out or even coming back as a previous sub, grab yourself a referral link in this thread and join in! There are bound to be some major events and sales coming up with May so nearby!

Buy the Amazon starting bundle. It has 90 days game time, 2400 extra coins and a mount. Then you can get the EA origins bundle which is 60 days and 1050 coins and a mount. These two are the best deals, and the EA bundle can be purchased every 6 months, I think..
https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/offer-selection
As others have said, cooling is paramount, but what will help is running the game on low settings so it doesn't tax the system to much and get external peripherals so your hot hands are not touching the chassis . Story content should be no problem but after a long operation or warzone your laptop will get hot so give it a short break.
PSA: stop buying bare time cards and get the amazon bundle whenever you need more sub time. Get 90-days and 2400 CC for $10 more than a retail 60 day time card. There is no limit to how often you can use these bundles. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_npbCBb69ZE63R
If you want a different vehicle, throw in the Origin bundle one time. 60 days, 1,050 CC and the KOTOR swoop for the same price as bare 60 day retail time card. https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic
This amazon deal is only 3 months but you get the code in your account instantly:
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
get the amazon pack if the origin doesn't work. If you buy the deluxe pack it should though.
Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Eternal Throne – Amazon Premium Pack [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tVgHCbFGF26V5
As others have said, if you plan on playing a while, subscribe for a month to get all the expansions.
However, I would suggest you put this off as long as possible. I started F2P during a May 4th promo 3 years ago. And I played 2 months just as happy as I could be as free to play. There was some limitation to my inventory, fast travel, etc but I just played around those limitations and had a blast. Then BioWare offered a 1 month subscription bundle that didn’t require storing a credit card (something I was trying to avoid doing). I took the 1 month of subscription and realized how much more was available as a subscriber and I could never go back to those limitations of free to play (or preferred even) and really enjoy it. So play free until you are sure you are ready to invest into the game regularly.
And once you do decide that (as I suspect you will, it’s worth it), the best way to kick it off is by using the Amazon Bundle, which will give you 3 months sub time, a mount, and bonus cartel coins for less than 3 months of subscribing. There’s also a bundle on Origin that has a unique mount, bonus cartel coins and 2 months of subscription for less than the subscription cost of 2 months.
Have fun!
Three months plus 2400 cartel coins:
If the link doesn't work: Amazon part#/ASIN: B00T8NURF8
Not the bundle on SWtor.com;
There's a 2-month bundle on Origin, and a 3-month bundle on Amazon. Both cost as much/less that the pure sub, but give you extra CC on top of the monthly grant.
They're only usable once every 6 months or a year though.
They can be added to a recurring sub; the next bill date just gets moved down when that happens.

Took a small break last week and man am I glad I came back today! There is a huge event going on and tons of rewards being given out! The double XP event is amazing if you're trying to just level with class quests only - no need to do any side, planet, etc quests at all, can level all the way to max with just Main Class Story quests! A truly great way to experience the lore of SWTOR. New player or returning, grab yourself a referral link from this sticky and head on in to the world of Star Wars!

Few weeks back and man... it's been a BLAST!! Both Sith classes were just fantastic... secret agent had the best story so far and dark side choices had me really immersed in the Empire world. Continuing my dark side options on the light side and it's still proving to be great! The recent cartel market direct sale has been pretty interesting too. Some of the high end items are actually seeing price drops but lower end bronze stuff is also raising in price unfortunately. Been loving the newest light saber and the white-black crystal.. basically a black saber which fits in so well with the dark side image! Just can't get enough of it! Whether you're a returning sub or new player, I would highly suggest using a referral link to get some goodies and enjoy the amazing SWTOR experience today!

Can't get enough Star Wars!! The recent films may have been somewhat of a disappointment but man the game really brings back all those classic feelings! I'm glad I came back to this game about a month ago now after my Star Wars machete marathon, really makes me feel like I'm expanding on the Star Wars story with my own little timeline/story. Couldn't resist throwing money at the recent Cartel Market update, it just increases the immersion that much for me... I feel like a true Sith Lord at times... hahah ridiculous right? Well come and try it out for yourself! Get some extra goodies using the referral links as a new player or 7 day premium as a returning sub!

Just recently got back into this game and I am loving it more than ever! Lots of great little things added in and I've just been playing non-stop. I had a few level 50's but I actually rolled some new toons since I didn't remember the story much.. now I remember why I was so hooked! LOVE the dark side.. they made the choices and voice acting so amazingly in this game. Definitely recommend just downloading the game and coming back for the free 7 day premium!

About a week since I've started playing again and I've already finished the main 3 chapters of the sith assassin and moving into chapter 2 of sith warrior. Loving every bit of all the dark side choices. Have all sorts of plans for my dark sided republic characters too.. can't wait to experience everything. Even picked up the Amazon bundle! Highly recommend trying out the game for the first time or coming back for a free 7 day sub if you're a returning sub, very addicting and fun!!

The F2P restrictions, even for preferred players, are draconian. For a while now, the PTB have been really pushing for people to subscribe and stay subscribed. Speaking personally, the game is much more fun as a subscriber.
There is a special 90-day time card on amazon that comes with 2400 cartel coins, in addition to the ones you get monthly for being a subscriber. It costs $40 and is a pretty good deal.
If you attach a security key to your account (now an app and no longer a physical dongle), you receive 100 cartel coins each month. This, even if you're F2P. Also, you'll stop getting the random one-time password emails.
There's the monthly recurring subscription, which you get directly through SWtOR.com.
There's time cards you can get off amazon (I forget if those come with a pet), which are like the recurring, but don't auto-renew.
There's the Origin Bundle that gives you 2m + extra CC + swoop bike mount that costs the same as a reg 2m sub/timecard.
Finally, there's the Amazon bundle (once per account) that gives you 90d + extra CC + pet + it costs slightly less than a 3m sub ($40 vs 45), which is by far the best deal.
What would this cost if purchased? Is it the 39 bucks in link below?
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8?th=1
Historically, buying a sub from the SWTOR site has had some weird issues. I'd recommend you buy a time card from Amazon, assuming you're okay with more than one month's subscription.
In particular, the Knights of the Eternal Throne Starter Pack is a fantastic deal as it provides 3 months subscription plus some extra bonuses for the same price as it would cost getting it from the website - the downside being that you can't use it more than once.
recommend the amazon bundle if u are thinking of coming back. $40 gets u 3 months game time and 2400 cartel coins
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
It is more money efficient to buy this bundle. You get 90 days plus some cartel coins. https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8
for 1 month sub, you get all the expansions (to keep forever) that have been released when your sub runs out (so no future ones) and you get bumped to preferred - which eases some restrictions put on f2p.
You can also use a referral link once you sub and get extra stuff that will help you once your sub runs out - extra week sub time, way to keep all 3 crew skills, cosmetic changes, etc. For a full rundown of what you get, see here. In order to get that bundle you have to use it once you sub though... also, Amazon and Origin have couple-month packs that give you extra cartel coins you can use to buy some more unlocks to make the game more fun.
Just for reference, here is the actual product website off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Eternal/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=dsvrt_myd_asin_block?th=1
>I have some high grade weapons for sale but they just sit in the GTN for days at a time. Augments move well and quickly enough but with the requirements for companion influence leveling now being so absurd I have to spend a good chunk of my profits (if I'm lucky) for them to get the required purple grade materials to just keep doing it.
This is part of the problem. Augments and Augmentation Kits are generally the most stable, reliable selling item. However, in order to sell augments, you need 4 crew skills - in your case the base three, Armstech, Scavenging and Investigation. Sounds like you picked Slicing in lieu of Investigation, so you have to buy the purple Investigation mats (which should be relatively cheap).
Ultimately if you want to make money crafting, you're going to need to become self-sufficient - have multiple characters with multiple crafting skills. Even if you don't play them, get another character to level 10 for the 4th skill you need so you don't need to buy parts. Alternatively, just sell the Augmentation Kit Components themselves, which still sell well as other people can craft augmentation kits themselves and hope for a crit.
Really crafting is not going to be your quickest way to riches unless you've already got a good amount of starter money. Running Heroics in a group is still the fastest time vs. credits, though it's definitely not the most exciting.
If you're willing to spend some cartel coins, you can buy something from the cartel market and sell it on the GTN - a Hypercrate will net you 25-30 million depending on the server, and the current Taun-Taun mount and Wampa pet both are selling well currently and will likely skyrocket in price once the Life Day event is over.
If you're a sub and haven't used the promo yet, an easy way to get 2400 cartel coins is to buy the KOTET/KOTFE starter pack for $40 - same price as 90 days of subscription, but it gives you some cartel coins as well. This code can only be used once though so if you bought it last year, you're out of luck.
Yep, you'll have access to everything that was released during or before your sub period. So do not buy the expansions stand alone, they are already included in your 30 day sub!!
The best bang/buck if you plan on playing for over a month is the 90 day timecard bundle from Amazon for $40. You get few bucks off the sub fee plus 2400 coins (plus 500 monthly for 1500 + 2400).
https://smile.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
But I'd recommend just trying it out first and seeing if its your style of game.
If you do plan on subbing check /r/swtor's referral link (new one each weekend, but previous links should work):
https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/5es3v5/community_post_screenshot_and_referral_weekend/
You get a few extra goodies. Looks like one of the posts has some mount codes as well that might still be good.
Well, first off, I can only assume you're the person who gave me the gold. So yeah, thanks for popping my gold cherry! :D
As for resubbing, the benefits of resubbing before level 50 are REALLY small, especially between now and the beginning of December (cause there's a server wide XP boost that helps negate the XP penalty for not being subscribed). That being said, they are big enough, IMO, to warrant the cash. If nothing else, subscribing on or after the second of December will get you the new DLC (which launches on the 2nd) for all your characters forever (as well as any other DLC you're missing unlocked for all your characters forever as well).
And Amazon has been running a REALLY good deal for a while. Here's a link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8NURF8/ref=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_?ie=UTF8&th=1
(Disclaimer, that link is via an affiliate link for my favorite Twitch streamer. My browser automatically sends all Amazon traffic through the affiliate link. It's way more hassle to get the non-affiliate link then it is to just post a disclaimer. So use that link for reference purposes only unless you want to help support a random Twitch streamer at no cost to yourself lol).
That's 3 months of time for 40 bucks (instead of 42 bucks or whatever it is normally), but you also get 20 bucks worth of Cartel Coins (the in game premium money) and a cute little baby rancor pet for all your characters forever. So you save a couple extra bucks on the sub, get a BUNCH of free Cartel Coins, and a little buddy to adventure with.
There is also a referral code I or any other subscriber can give you if you haven't been a subscriber in 90 days. It gives you some nice stuff including 7 days worth of Subscriber benefits (sans the DLC unlocks). If you're going to subscribe anyway, it's worth getting someone's code for the free 7 days and the goodies (the nicest of which is a free row of inventory space for all your characters forever). I'll be happy to supply a referral code if you want it, but if you know someone playing, they get some small but nice benefits, including Cartel Coins, if you end up subbing, so no hard feelings if you got a friend that plays or something and you'd rather use their code.
As for the text being small, the game features and EXTREMELY robust interface editor that will let you increase the size of individual elements (as well as move them, hide them, etc). This could be used on the tool tips box to increase it and therefore increase the size of the text. And since the tool tips box is a popup, it wouldn't get in the way of actually playing the game, even if you made it gigantic.
SWTOR is one of those MMOs where each class gets a billion abilities. I have 24 abilities mapped to my mouse alone and still have a couple more (like Stealth on my Consular or my 60 minute class buff or my quick travel button) that aren't bound to any key and I click when I need them. That being said, most classes have a "core" of about a half dozen abilities that really define how they are played, with everything else being either some sort of utility ability (like a stun or a defensive/offensive cooldown) or an AoE or situational ability.
This means that, starting out, you'll only have a couple of buttons to work with and, for the most part, they'll be the "key" abilities that you build your combat rotation around. Sure, a couple abilities may get replaced by something else (Slice on the Jedi Guardian is a great example), but most of them are gana be used from the moment you get them all the way through max level/raiding.
Because of this, they sort of build "out" in terms of complexity, if that makes sense. The stuff you get for the first 20-30 levels is the "core." The big abilities that define the class. As you go, these abilities will generally be the ones getting modified by the passive abilities you'll get automatically as you level. And these passives are what enable your core abilities to interact with your utility or situational skills, which you get later on.
So, my advice for overcoming the complexity of an MMO like SWTOR is to start with the basics. Identify which skills are you "builders (the ones that grant resources) which are your "spender fillers" (the ones that spend resources and just do damage, and not a lot else and are best used when you have nothing else to do), which are single target/AoE "power" skills (the BIG buttons that cost a lot of resources and produce big results, via damage, temporary crowd control, etc), and which skills you can safely relegate to the hard to reach buttons cause they're not something you're using a lot.
Once you get the abilities separated into the broad categories outlined above, you can make decisions about which abilities work best in which situations by viewing how they interact with each other via the passive abilities and via trial and error out in the world.
It sounds complicated, but really it's just about compartmentalizing everything into manageable, bite-sized chunks. Once you do that, you see how the compartments connect to each other, and everything falls into place, becoming second nature. And that's when games like this get really, really enjoyable, IMO.
Suddenly, your Jedi is dancing across the battlefield, force leaping from one enemy to the next, giant, sweeping strikes cleaving down a slew of enemies, massive overhead swings dishing out the hurt on the baddie's leaders, etc, etc, etc. SWTOR has really enjoyable LOOKING combat, which is something I think a lot of MMOs lack. And once you get your rhythm down, you can really enjoy it.
So yeah, I really hope you give the game a try again. Even if you're still struggling with combat, the leveling content (which is 95% of the games story) is worth experiencing. It's really fantastic writing and I think a lot of people end up missing out on some fantastically written and voice acted Star Wars stories because of the way the game plays. And that's a shame.
But I have every confidence that with a little practise and determination that you'll do just fine. So yeah, thanks again for the gold, and I hope you enjoy whatever time you end up spending in the game. :)
Maybe consider buying this (or wait if BW will maybe provide a Kotet starter pack?) https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477820901&sr=8-2&keywords=swtor&th=1
I think you'd unlock it with a 60 day sub. I think you just have to be subbed Dec 2 to unlock it (don't quote me on that, details here: http://www.swtor.com/eternal-throne)
I think there's an even better package available that 1-time use for an extra ten dollars you get another month of sub time and a pile of cartel coins. https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
> Will purchasing the base game that comes with a 30 day sub unlock all of the current expansions?
Yes, but keep in mind that a 1 month subscription is $15 and that gets you all of the expansions as well. There's literally no point to purchasing the base game unless you're getting it cheaply or it's being bundled with other stuff and that other stuff is worth more then what you're paying.
For example, the amazon starter bundle is a great deal. It's $45 of sub time and $20 of cartel coins for $40. The Epic Experience bundle on EA's Origin is also another good deal. $30 of sub time, $10 of cartel coins, and a bunch of XP boosts ($3 value) for $30. Not quite as good as amazon, but you can combine them on your account.
Now the real question is do you need the expansions? Not until you're level 50. Pay the $15 when you're ready to play the content. There's little to no benefit to being level 24 and paying for content you're not playing. Worse to pay the $15 and never get to level 50.
When you do get the sub, make sure you create a bunch of character that are races other then human. Like a twi'lek smuggler if you're so inclined. You don't have to level it, just have it. Why? So that when you're ready, if you're not a sub, you can play as a twi'lek smuggler. Races are purely cosmetic but limited to subs, but while you're a sub might as well take advantage, you don't lose them when your sub ends.
Amazon Bundle = usd $39.99
90 days, 2400 Cartel Coins, Juvenile War Rancor pet
One time use
Origin = usd 29.99
60 Days, 1050 Cartel Coins, Major Experience Boost 5-Pack
Once per 6 months.
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/buy/star-wars-the-old-republic/pc-download/bundle/deluxe-pack
You also get the monthly cartel coin grant for being subscribed using either one, I think the amount varies a little based on length of sub period paid for.
best bundle right here but can only be used once per account.
Yeah, there are also other packs you can get that give you more though... and each pack can be used once per account. I think the best deal is the 3 month Amazon one; I would get that over this one over the one they're pushing since it gives you an extra month and more coins for $10.
All packs open all sub stuff and all expansions (which you keep afterwards), so don't worry about this being 'older' than the one they're pushing. also, get a referral link once you sub for some unlocks after your time runs out, inc a free toon transfer to duplicate your legacy and so on on a second srever (link to details) ^_^
Can I use this if I've already used this: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_
the amazon 40 dollar pack comes with 90 days and 2400 cartel coins
IDK if you can get the 100CC if you're not a sub when you start out (if it works, let me know please).
As far as picking up coins, some in-game things grant you a few... so you should have enough to unlock a Mount if you've run a few characters through storylines and other stuff.
There are also a couple packs (coins + game tie + pet) that are better than just buying the sub if you've not used them yet. The Origin one was on sale for $22 when I got it (so it'd be something to watch out for), and the Amazon bundle is a bit more pricy but gets you 3months and 2400 extra coins instead of origin's 1050 (not inc the monthly sub grant).
Be sure to grab a referral link from me or someone if you go that route; it will give you a couple great unlocks for when you downgrade to pref again. If you were ever subbed I can give you mine (don't care if you sub, it should still give you the week and goodies)... but it won't work if you only became pref via coin card, etc; otherwise you have to wait until you actually sub to use one.
Edit; Reg. price zombie below, the Amazon one comes with a 90d card, not a 30d
Welcome to the game dude, great reasons to be a subscriber! If you haven't seen the Amazon bundle check it out. 90 days of sub time costs more then the bundle is alone.
Also, EA offers a bundle on Origin which is alittle cheaper and offers a little less. But codes can only be applied to an account once, so it makes sense to take advantage of both bundles if you're thinking about long term!
Lastly, you mention the companion system at 60. You gotta do your class story, you should have more then Qyzen at 31. Sorry for the spoiler, but I feel like I just need to tell you that you don't need to wait that long!
If you do plan on subbing for at least 2 months, get this:
I just recently came back and decided to sub. I found this deal as its the best bang for the buck.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8
3 month sub and cartel coins for $40 usd. Otherwise sub for a single month to unlock everything.
SWTOR
I just came back like 3 weeks ago and some opinions of my own and changes to the game (not all changes but some)
The KOTFE and 4.0 changes have changed the game to be more Single player orientated, but there are still MMO elements, Ops, PVP, events, etc. I myself haven't played since a few months after launch, so for me, there's lots of content to go through.
You have the base game 1-50, 8 class stories, Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, Shadow of Revan expansion and the new Knights of the Fallen Empire, which was partially released and a new chapter is coming every month, starting February, with chapter 10.
The 1-50 story with all 8 classes are free to play, but to level above 50 and do the other expansions, you have to sub. $14.99 is the sub rate and you get all 3 expansions, and currently up to Chapter 10 in Knights of the Fallen Empire.
They also have a story-synch mechanic, where you'll scale down to the level of the planet, but still keep all your abilities and talents.
All flashpoints and Ops have been scaled to 65, the current max level, and also most flashpoints have a solo mode now (rewards are bad though, but it's for the story). Problem with this though is, they have not added any new FPs or Operations with the new expansion and none have been planned, as of yet. So, this has hurt the PVE community with a good amount of people leaving, but there are still a good amount playing.
There are also a lot of other changes that would just make this post very long.
But anyway, lots of content I never did, and probably a lot of other people who quit shortly after launch. The stories are nice if you're into that, PVP is still somewhat fun, but I haven't jumped much into that. PVE has a lot of raids currently since all the old ones were scaled to max level and there are 3 mods, Story Mode (LFR), Hard Mode (Slightly harder than WOW normal) and Nightmare (Probably easier than mythic, but harder than WOW heroic). I haven't done a whole lot of raiding outside of some SM and easier HMs, but I am looking to get deeper.
I do have my concerns with the game and what Bioware is doing. I am just gonna stick around for a bit, I have a 90-day sub right now, from http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453859696&sr=8-1&keywords=star+wars+the+old+republic so see where it goes. The game is fun, for new/returning players, but some veterans feel like Bioware hasn't treated them well. The player base of most games do complain, so I am trying to find my own opinion before jumping into the hate bandwagon. Populations of the servers seem alright, but PVP servers are pretty dead, but PVE servers are pretty bumping. There are 3 big populated servers for NA and one EU.
There is player and guild housing called Strong Holds and Guild ships, but I haven't jumped much into it and there's a ton of features there, but I haven't done much of it.
Oh, and yes the engine has gotten somewhat better, but it still needs a lot of work, but I just don't know if it ever will.
And the CASH SHOP. It's NOT Pay 2 win. All the items in cash shop are pretty much all Cosmetic. There are some dumb restrictions to F2P, but I feel this game is more Free to Trial then really Free to Play, though a good amount of people do play Free. Also like I said, you can just buy a month unlock everything then go free, but be sure to purchase all you want when you're a sub because as soon as sub ends, the 350k credit cap comes in. The F2P aspect is REALLY restricting imo, and you'd be very much better served to sub.
There's a lot of other stuff as well I didn't talk about here.

New Players get some premium unlocks, not as great as returning players though as they get 7-day sub, free transfer and some other unlocks. THOUGH, the 7-DAY SUB AS RETURNING PLAYER DOES NOT UNLOCK THE EXPANSIONS OR ALLOW YOU TO LEVEL PAST 50!

TL;DR, SWTOR, I missed the last 4 years of content, so I am jumping in, you should too! It's free and if returning players get ya 7 day sub with my referal link: http://www.swtor.com/r/VPtkzJ
Uggh, I just paid $40 for 3 months and 2400 cc. This is a better value. Here is what I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8NURF8?ref_=pe_1871410_140945350
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Knights-Starter/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1445546652&sr=1-1&keywords=swtor check into that, is my recommendation, Pretty good value.
Yeah i got the same problem. It gets stuck in verifying and nothing appears to be happening then approximately 13 to 14 minutes after it rearranges everything for no apparent or good reason you're launcher will show the play button. Yes I timed it.
Solutions:
Option 1:
1) Before you start the launcher. Go into the bitraider folder located in your game folder. Delete NetClnt.xfr, ClienSet.xfr, Clientck.xfr.
2) Start the launcher, this time you will see it actually verifying the files and it will only take about 4 to 5 min to launch versus 13 to 14 min. I know it's ridiculous this has been a known issue they have refused to do anything about. The fix launcher software that they made to supposedly fix this doesn't work.
Option 2:
1) Get a hard copy of the game, you can get the PC hard copy version of the game at amazon for $10. Make sure you click on PC and not PC download and select Base Game. Here is the link:
I just ordered mine a few days ago it should be getting here soon will update. But yes from what the players have found out is if you delete the whole game, then download the game from the hard copy you won't be using bit raider.
Will update you folks after I have done this my self.
** Option 3:**
There is a third more complicated option that i won't get into until I actually try it my self first as the way some players wrote the last option it can be confusing to a non tech person. I'll test it out and try and make the non Techie guide to the last method.
AMENDED: Added info as I guess some people had a hard time understanding so let me clarify :)
The link defaults to the Value Bundle. Nothing I can do about that so, let me explain a bit better. After clicking on the link above.....
Two options under platform:
Platform: ( 2 options )
PC and PC Download ( Click on PC -NOT- PC Download )
Edition: ( 7 options ) 60-Day Time Card, Base Game, Expansion Pack, 1450 Cartel Coins, 2400 Cartel Coins, Value Pack (which is the default)
So click on PC and Base Game it will show $10 and shipping options. The rest of the options are for download only you don't want those you want a physical copy of the game.

Guide after level 50: https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/wiki/guide_after_chapter_3
Link to the bundle:

Removed due to amazon referral in link. Please remove the part starting at "ref=..." like so: http://www.amazon.com/SWTOR-Amazon-STAR-Bundle-Online/dp/B00T8NURF8/
Then send a message to me to get it reinstated.

or wait until it goes free in October.

HOWEVER, you only get the 7 days free if your account was a subscriber at a previous time, not if you're a free to play.
If she's having trouble putting a subscription up just with SWTOR's official site, there's a few methods she can try.
If she wants to also get the Shadow of revan expansion, there's a good $40 deal through amazon: http://www.amazon.com/SWTOR-Amazon-STAR-Bundle-Online/dp/B00T8NURF8/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1435130054&sr=1-2&keywords=swtor+time+card
There's also a 60 day time card purchaseable through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-60-Day-Pre-paid/dp/B00HWYDM3O/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1435130054&sr=1-1&keywords=swtor+time+card
Story-wise, you could buy Shadow of Revan for $20USD which also includes the first expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel.
However, if you are also planning on subscribing, I'd recommend getting the Amazon Bundle for $40USD which gets you both expansions, 60 days of sub, and 2400 cartel coins.
You can still get it on Amazon for now at least
Glad I could help. :)
Not Sure What ID to put here for an MMO?
I'm Requesting The SW:ToR Story Bundle
I'm Writing About Why I Love SW:ToR (copied from my request)
Hey GiftOfGames! /u/Saikewnonebi here :).
Today I'm Requesting The SW:ToR Story Bundle; this includes a 60 Day Time Card, 2400 Of The Games Premium Currency, an Exclusive Pet, The Rise Of The Hutt Cartel Story Pack and the Shadow Of Revan story pack! That's a lot of content for $40!
I absolutely adore this game! It's the only MMO I'm actually into! Currently I have one max level character (not max level anymore, the cap was raised to level 60 but you can only get there with the Story Packs).
I currently have two characters that I play on mainly, One called Saikewnonebi (Level 55) on the Republic Side (he's a Jedi Knight, yo.) I also have a girl called Kelechi (Level 35) on the Empire side, she's a Sith Marauder.
I massive enjoy levelling because of the story, but I want to continue the story and go to Manaan and Rishi (the two added planets) - there are also two added endgame Operations (A.K.A Raids) I'm massively missing out on the content my Guild is doing because they all have the DLC's and I don't.
My republic side character's are all in the PvE guild, Eternal Dawn. I'm currently a Recruiter and we have ~300 members. The guild were very friendly to me as when I got Saikewnonebi to Level 50 I was still quite new to the game. IIRC I ran an Operation with a character named Badass and I asked him if his guild was open, he said yes and I as invited almost immediately! I've been in Eternal Dawn ever since - it's been a good time!
My Empire side guild is well, mine! I'm the Guild Leader of a guild named Imperial Eclipse and have been for about two weeks! We currently sit at around 15 members but we really look forward to growing! It's more a levelling guild until the first member reaches endgame! (Level 50+). Of course, this is an open invitation to join my guild, if you play the game and want to join the guild just comment the name of your character and I'll throw you an invite when you're online!
If you don't play the game, I think you should! If you're a fan of Star Wars, or a fan of KoToR I or II, this game is great!
Hell, if you wanna start out I'll even help you! Joining my Guild on the Empire Side will grant you a 6.8% EXP boost, and as the amount of players in the guild increases, so does the boost! Oh, and if you plan on subscribing to the game in the future (Cheap deals on g2a.com) then why not use my Referral Link? Info on that can be found here! (If you click it, and subscribe within 14 days of clicking it - I get the bonuses on the FAQ page)
TIP FOR SUBSCRIBING: If you subscribe, you should immediately activate a security key on your account (iOS or Android), this will grant you 100 Cartel Coins per month even after your subscription has run out, it will also add an extra layer of security to your account.
The deal runs out on the 29th, so if someone wants to fulfil my request, please do it by then :).
Does the amazon bundle also expire on the 19th? The bundle in question
Its the same discount on Amazon too:
http://www.amazon.com/SWTOR-Amazon-STAR-Bundle-Online/dp/B00T8NURF8
It seems like you don't realize that the majority of the rules on that thread is about posting referral codes and how to subscribe. Here let me show you:
All subscribed players have a referral code they can share players who have subscribed in the past, but who are not subscribed now, or with players who do not have accounts yet. If another player uses their link and then subscribes, the referrer recieves free Cartel Coins for every month the referred stays subscribed.
If you are a preferred player who has subbed in the past, but you are not subbed now, you can use a referral code to get a free bundle of useful items and 7 days of free subscription (note this does not unlock expansions). Preferred players can only use a referral code once ever 90 days. Please note, that offering in-game credits or item in exchange for referrals is not allowed in this thread.
Free-to-Play players can not use referral links (nothing will happen if you use one).
If you do not have a SWTOR.com account yet, you can click a referral code and then sign up. This will give you a small bundle of free items when you create your character.
Looking for some good deals to subscribe to the game? Don't forget to use someone's referral code first so you both get bonus items.

~ /u/swtorista
The site you saw what on? Sorry but your wording doesn't make a ton of sense. If you've never subscribed before: this is a pretty good deal
Here you go. Keep in mind the bundle can only be used once on an account. EA's Origin sells a lesser bundled that can also be applied once per account as well. Amazon also sell 90 day cards.
To add to Mactavish3's excellent post...
Open world PVP on the US side of things isn't much different. I know for a pure PvP server, Harbinger is the most populated. I play on Shadowlands, and it's always had a pretty decent sized warzone (instanced) community which seems lean heavily on the Empire.
In terms of free to play, you can experience the game and the pvp but it's limited. Take a look at this chart to get an idea of what you're in for. The big things are limited warzones and gear. If you were to pvp and get to max level, you wouldn't be able to wear the pvp gear without an unlock which would put you at a disadvantage. From a dollar standpoint it's not expensive to buy the unlock and you might even be able to buy the unlock for ingame credits depending on the auction price (credits are capped for f2p players too.)
Fortunately it's not hard at all to get Preferred status which is slightly better then f2p and it means you bought something. $5 of cartel coins is an easy way to do it, but I and others recommend the amazon bundle. You get more then your money's worth for the price. You get a ton of time and the expansions and should you choose not to stay subbed, you can save the coins to buy unlocks if you want to keep playing but find the limits annoying.
