Okay that is a great start and very helpful! So if I purchase this...
StarTech.com USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter - 4K 30Hz - External Video & Graphics Card - Dual Monitor Display Adapter - Supports Windows (USB32HD2), Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DSP82RA0NAK57YPNATBM?psc=1
...and connect it to a USB-C to USB-A hub, that should do the trick?
>Get a multiple output USB display adapter.
Something like this?
You can use a USB docking port to add more monitors to your laptop but I have no clue how many you can support in your laptop. You possibly can get one with more than 2 monitors. I use a StarTech one at work that had 2 monitor connections.
Example: https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH
Thank you a lot for the answer. Im pretty sure my laptop is only thunderbolt 3 , not 4. But maybe the dock still works ? Anyhow, those thunderbolt docks seem pretty expensibe Would a device like this also do the job ? https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH
I plugged this into my switch to get dual monitors working : StarTech.com USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter - 1x 4K 30Hz & 1x 1080p - External Video & Graphics Card - USB Type-A to HDMI Dual Monitor Display Adapter - Supports Windows Only - Black (USB32HD2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_WNW7FD76R0CEJX307F99?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
While we're all assuming you mean "good for mining" and, thus, thinking you're a fool, I guess you could just be looking for something that can handle business graphics.
In that case, this would fit your budget:
There are USB to video adapters available- more than good enough for basic office apps.
It really depends on what laptop you have.
It can be done, but a laptop that takes a thunderbolt dock will provide a much better experience than some cheap laptop what would need a USB video card. Similarly, some USB-C ports are wired for video output too and that will be a better way to drive a monitor than a USB3.0 video adapter.
For older business laptops that have a port for a dock like on older Dell Precisions and Latitudes, I would say, get the docking station, buy a used one) and that will provide you with a fair bit of video outputs. You could easily do dual monitor + laptop screen on those Dells with the docking station. It may require additional adapters like DVI to HDMI or DVI to DP since those docks are old enough to have DVI and sometimes, even VGA ports.
In the worse case scenario that the laptop is quite old, does not have USB-C or thunderbolt and does not have a docking port, you can always go with a USB video card. Something like this for example: https://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-Adapter-External-Video-Monitor/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=External+Graphics+Card&qid=1636157799&sr=8-8
USB video cards aren't great in that you are severely bandwidth limited.Works for office work, but I wouldn't use it for anything else like gaming or accurate colour work either.
I use an external USB video adapter.
Similar to this: StarTech.com USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter - 4K 30Hz - External Video & Graphics Card - Dual Monitor Display Adapter - Supports Windows (USB32HD2), Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_8Q8.FbRBVDRK1
Thanks for the reply. This is what I was looking at buying. I’d buy the more expensive ones if it makes a difference. https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=external+graphics+card&qid=1610046647&sr=8-4
If you have a free USB port you can probably get away with one of these adapters. I use one with my laptop and have been pretty satisfied with it. Basically I have one monitor hooked up to my hdmi out and then another one hooked up to this adapter and it splits the screens.

Standard HDMI splitters only duplicate your screen, so both will show the same thing. If you are limited to only 1 output on your computer, your cheapest option would be to get a USB to HDMI converter. I have one for my work laptop since I have a triple monitor set up and it works. There are cheaper options, but here is a link to a random one on Amazon: Amazon USB-to-HDMI
If you have literally any other outputs (VGA, display port, DVI, etc) it would be cheaper to get an adapter for those.
it sounds wonky? i spent days trying to figure out how to outport 3 hdmi displays. I posted more than one thread on reddit. The conclusion was to buy this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH/?coliid=IHR2MKIR3WVZE&colid=2H0U4L730LARJ&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it.
So now you're telling me after the fact that its wonky. This is fun. So how should i outport 3 displays? I'm all ears. I was all ears before I bought this.
I'm not sure about that as I've only ever run one USB to HDMI adapter at a time. It would probably work, but with a performance hit per each adapter. Looks like there are USB to dual HDMI adapters that seem to have good reviews on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-External-Monitor-Graphics-USB32HDE/dp/B0725K1MHH?th=1
Maybe give one of those a shot?
So just as I thought; should have remembered it when I first typed my msg. Splitters only duplicate the image. In order to physically get two signals, the device needs a processing unit to actually split the signal; which makes the devices more expensive.
This device is what you want (or something similar if you can find cheaper).
right makes sense. i did find this adaptor. would this work? https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=usb%2Bto%2B2%2Bhdmi%2Badapter&sr=8-3&th=1
I used to use have this one: https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1FNRYC89CA82Q
and this one: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B00H91BQ7Y/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1CZGFXW7TW3JH
...but now all my stuff is USB-C so I just use a Type-C hub with HDMI out.
Thank you > looks like this would work for you due to the USB-C port not being display, not sure how much you are looking to spend though.
Website I found addressing your situation https://superuser.com/questions/1696188/can-i-connect-two-monitors-to-my-asus-vivobook-laptop-one-via-hdmi-and-one-via
Usb 3 to dual hdmi or dual dp adaptor Eg https://www.amazon.com.au/StarTech-com-USB32HD2-Dual-HDMI-Adapter/dp/B0725K1MHH?th=1&psc=1
What your asking for (ignoring the lvds), are called video wall controllers - here's one that'll do what you want, and they aren't the cheapest things - https://bitvisus.com/products/bit-mse-hdbt-4k60-103hd-1x3-1x2-video-wall-controller-projection-fusion-system
Nb: I'm not endorsing that product or brand, I've never heard of the company before now and I have no idea whether it will be fit for purpose beyond reading the specs and confirming it supports the in/out resolutions you want.
It would have to be aUSB-HDMI type to extend the monitors.
Thank you. But what if you have a x2 HDMI to a USB 3.0 adapter. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH Would that work ? I mean theres gotta be a way to do Dual Monitors, without usb C
It will mirror the output. What you want to do is get a USB video card. They're not at all designed for play games on, but when you've got a 3 monitor setup... one of them will probably dedicated to web browsing, so that's the one you want on the USB.
https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH/
This would probably be great of your 2 "secondary" monitors are HDMI since it'll let you plug them both into it... which will free up the HDMI on your video card full time for your VR headset.
https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Graphics-Displaylink-Supports-2048x1152/dp/B01CSG7TUC/
Otherwise a cheaper option is that for just adding one HDMI monitor to the setup.
Pay attention to the specs of any of these device you buy, maybe of them have a maximum resolution that is 100% dependent on the type of USB port they're connected to.
Thos monitors don't support USB-C so your only option is some sort of USB to HDMI or USB to DP adapter(s).
I found this dual HDMI and your monitors are 1080p so this should work but I have never used this model before: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH/
If you have USB-C on your machine, this one might perform better (and is cheaper): https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0894B525X/
Basically they are docks without the extra ports and usually don't require their own power adapter/cable.
Fai prima ad avere un singolo grande monitor
Altrimenti ti serve una 'scheda video' esterna che ti permetta di avere entrate monitor aggiuntive
https://www.amazon.it/STARTECH-COM-USB32HD2-Adattatore-Convertitore-Doppia/dp/B0725K1MHH
Maybe something like this could get you there.
Oops my bad I didn’t read it correctly. Perhaps a dual adapter might be better?
Would something like work?
I am also open to using a USB to dual HDMI adapter
https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH
yeah you're right. I was planning on using something like this for the two 1080p ones

You can get a USB to HDMI box. https://www.amazon.com/USB-Dual-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B0725K1MHH/ref=sr_1_3
https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB32HD2-Dual-HDMI-Adapter/dp/B0725K1MHH
They're a bit pricey, might be able to find a cheaper one somewhere else.
