The steelseries arctis 1 are great , the mic quality is decent and it's also wireless

My friends and I use these and they work well (pricey though). You plug a USB adapter into there base and then the headset is wireless, with a mic.

Looking to buy a headset for gaming, however I don't need a microphone attached as I already have a separate one.

Preferred type of headphone: for gaming so surround sound required, also wireless, I'm looking to upgrade from my pretty ancient logitech g35 as I have too many wires going on!

Tonal balance: no idea, just need it for gaming, mainly cod games, so I guess some decent base for hearing footsteps?

Preferred music: rap and edm, though I don't want my headset to be geared towards that, I just want it for gaming.

Improve from my previous setup: logitech g35's have been really good, lasted for around 8 years and still going strong, sound has been great, just wires have been annoying. Ideally just looking to get as much competitive edge as possible with my new headset. I'm totally open to not getting a gaming headset as I don't require a mic. Again just need the surround sound. Been looking at the following gaming headsets, but I'll be honest I don't really know what I'm looking at.
