I am not really a tech person but I have owned two pairs of https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008LT5MFA/ref=twister_B004B8VCJU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 headset and they are a really great, easy to use, and nice looking LED headset
I have the white blue ones (price used to be $80 not sure why its so high now) but the black one appears to be $65 currently. The sound is good, they are reliable, and the retractable mic + mute/unmute switch is great.
Been using Steelseries Siberia v2 frost. Only downside is it's USB plug, but it came with an extension cable that's pretty long.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Nothing in particualr. They will be used for gaming, music, netflix, and a little bit of everything. It needs to have a built in microphone.
Budget: $100

Location: I live in the USA, NY.
Required Feature: It needs to have a mic that blocks out outside noise. This is a must for me. I want people to hear me clearly but I need it to block out outside noise.

These were a Christmas present from my hsuband. We both game and tend to go through headsets and headphones like crazy since we used to try and get them as inexpensive as possible. With most headsets, for gaming purposes, you tend to get what you pay for. Usually.

They're a bit pricey but honestly, these are the best headphones/headset combo I've ever owned. The cord is a bit short for my tastes but I make do. I would recommend this line or most sets by Sennheiser if you don't have a smaller head and like them big/over ear style. I was worried about these being too big on me but they're perfect really.
Budget - $200ish, flexible.
Source - PC
Requirements for Isolation - Some isolation, but can be flexible on this category. These will be exclusively used at home.
Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized, Circumaural
Preferred tonal balance - Either bass or balanced is fine, but I am leaning on getting something a bit on the bass side.
Past headphones -
1. I did have a Turtle Beach years ago. Needless to say that everything about it was horrible. I kept it limping for a while with tape after it broke fairly quickly.
2. More relevant: Steelseries Siberia V2 USB. What I liked about it: Decent sound quality (from my own experience). Had zero hissing sounds whenever no sound is being played from the PC. Very comfortable with the auto-adjusting headband. Built-in mic with reasonably good recording quality. What I didn't like about it - Had these gimmicky pulsing lights that can only be turned off by installing their program on my PC. Had a volume slider I did not need since I can adjust Window's volume with my keyboard, and this slider was not only unnecessary, but it can accidentally change the volume if it rubs up against something. Unfortunately, it broke after about 5 years of use (no audio on right ear and through microphone).
Preferred Music - Can't say much about this since I am not a huge music listener, but I do enjoy Elton John and some amateur dubstep every once in a while (I know, they are pretty much polar opposites).
What would I like to improve on from my set-up - Ok, now for the important part: Comfort and built quality, build quality, build quality. I want something that I should not have to worry about replacing for a long time and is able withstand the wrath of Zeus. I can accept if the sound quality is the same as the Siberia V2 if the build quality is really good, but having something better sounding is a plus.
Also, sorry for the newbie question, but how does audio quality differ from 3.5mm to straight USB? Does that depend on the sound card in the computer vs the sound card built into a USB headset? It seems like 3.5mm is better considering all the recommendations in the parent post use it. Would wireless be out of the question for great sound quality?
I have this one OP and it's served me well with it's good mic quality and sound
