I have this same flashlight, it’s a great little light. Charges by USB. The black model goes low to high beam, and the tan model goes high beam to low beam if it matters to you. On Amazon here
A compact super bright flashlight like this Streamlight on amazon is what I use. It's also helpful for seeing in dark rooms. Note that the color in the link is the only one that defaults to the bright light when you first turn it on.
They make good stuff, but their 250 lumen rechargeable is all you need.. tiny, usb rechargeable, replaceable cell, and has a pocket clip that clips onto hats too, $27
I would swap the flashlight for a USB rechargeable one, standardize the pouch on that. Stream light has a good one:
Streamlight 66608 250 Lumen MicroStream USB Rechargeable Pocket Flashlight with 5" USB Cord, Coyote, Clamshell Packaging https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07DLZXZV1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H0BPPZ4T5MXDMEZNY7QS
Stream light, micro usb rechargeable and has a replaceable 660607 battery… the double s clip allows you to clip it to your hat and use it like a headlamp.. perfect size to keep in your pocket and not even realize it’s there.
Stream light is awesome, no magnet but it’s super bright, has a replaceable rechargeable battery, charges via micro usb. And the hat/pocket dual clip is amazing! Plus it’s the perfect size for an everyday pocket flashlight
Streamlight micro stream is a bice light in your price range

Got one of these for myself, the fiancé, and her dad lol

Bro the new Microstream is literally like 250 Lumens; 1,150 Candela; 90 minute runtime.
That means the tiny little (rechargeable) $40 backup light in my pocket will outperform these new Surefire weapon lights. To call it “Underwhelming” is an underwhelming description for how underwhelming these SF weapon lights are.
I have the m150 and while I love it, the ui can be a little tricky and the light has a tendency to come on in the pocket. Your dad may not want to mess with a lockout mode. Can I suggest the Stramlight microstream usb?

I use this small rechargeable one from Streamlight and I like it quite a bit.

I've never actually run out of battery on it. Pros: it's tiny and battery seems to last a while. Cons: can't focus beam.
Streamlight Microstream USB. I EDC the same flashlight and love it.
I know this light has a bit of a mixed reputation around here, but I think it's solid value at $30, and at less than $24 I think it's a great impulse purchase, maybe get one for a stocking stuffer.
I have a longggg list of pen lights I really wanna buy but for this I'm gonna have to enter with the Coyote Streamlight Microstream USB - I have it in black already and love it, the Coyote one starts in high and having that would make me love it Soo much more!

Amazon - Streamlight USB in Tan
Thank you for doing this giveaway again!
Thnx for doing this!
I hope luck is in my side, if not, next time.
Thank you for taking the time to do this!!
Light is Streamlight Microstream USB
Knife looks like Kershaw Launch 6?
You don't have to do a full click with the i3T to get to high mode. It has a forward clicky switch so you just have to do a super quick half press and then another half press/full click to get to high. Most lights with a mechanical switch and multiple modes work that way.
I believe the brown version of the Streamlight Microstream USB starts on high. It's 1xAAA sized but uses a built in battery and has usb recharging.
The Wurkkos WK01 has mode memory so it comes on in the mode you last turned it on in. It runs of 1xAAA. It's zoomable but retains good water resistance so that's kind of unique (most zoomable lights kind of suck, especially in water resistance). I can't seem to find it but there's a 4000K version that comes with a really nice high CRI LED that produces a very pleasant beam. I'd probably go with this one.
The Astrolux A02 uses the same super nice emitter in the 4000K version but it doesn't have mode memory, probably starts on low, and has a reverse clicky switch so you click to turn it on and then half press to cycle modes. It supports 10440 li-ion cells though and if you use one of those it punches way above its weight with almost 400 lumens. Super nice sub-lumen mode too.
Here are a few more options that might be worth checking out. I can't filter for whether they have mode memory though. I hope this is helpful!
I now own 2 of them.
Slim is probably a good idea for poking around an engine compartment.
Slim with integrated charging really narrows down your choices.
How about the Streamlight Microstream USB model? It has two modes, USB-micro recharging, and a two-way pocket clip that can be clipped to the brim of a hat. The light is 1xAAA sized, but runs on a lithium-ion 10440 cell, which is included. About $30 on Amazon, depending on the color.
There’s also the Streamlight Macrostream USB. It’s bigger, brighter, and runs longer.
I have a recommendation The streamlight microstream USB model Streamlight 66608 Flashlight Micro Stream USB - Coyote https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DLZXZV1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xUDJCbVZZ756S
Stream light flashlight, tiny enough to keep in your pocket but nice and bright… has a clip that will clip onto your hat to use hands free.
Bring a flash light, I have no shame lighting up someone’s porch for my safety. This is what I use, also a great defensive light, and usb rechargeable.

Anything that’s not Olight. Olight makes good hosts that often have good UI, but the emitters are ALWAYS a gross, cool white, low CRI, garbage temp and tint. And they charge a premium.
I actually just got my Olight Warrior mini back in the mail yesterday. I sent it to a guy I met on r/flashlight who did an emitter swap for me and put an emitter in it that isn’t garbage. I’m glad he was willing to do it because Olight is also historically notorious for making their lights very difficult to mod. They’re the Apple of the flashlight world. I love my Warrior mini again now like I used to before I realized how shitty Olight’s emitter selections are.
I have a couple of i5T EOS’s like OP, and I love the host, love the click of the button, love the simple UI, but you’ll never see me carry them because I can’t stand the light they emit. Eventually I’ll have someone do an emitter swap on those too.
Anyway, Acebeam is a reputable company that has good options and actually listens somewhat to their customer base unlike Olight. There’s a ton of good companies though. Join the r/flashlight subreddit and ask this question there.
If you want a very simple, very lightweight, very pocketable, usb rechargeable light that you can get from Amazon, there’s always this guy: https://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-66608-Flashlight-Micro-Stream/dp/B07DLZXZV1/ref=sxin_13_ac_d_rm?ac_md=0-0-c3RyZWFtbGlnaHQ%3D-ac_d_rm_rm_rm&cv_ct_cx=Streamlight&dchild=1&keywords=Streamlight&pd_rd_i=B07DLZXZV1&pd_rd_r=82ca379...
There’s definitely better options out there, and $30 can get you some incredible lights if you know where to look and what to order (looking at you, Convoy), but even with all the nice lights I have I still find myself pocketing that little Streamlight from time to time.
Hope this helps. I’m not trying to hate on OP’s light. Like I said, I love the i5T host. But once people discover the amazing world of quality flashlights that exists outside of Olight, they never look back. And if they do, it’s just for the host and they’re going to change emitters.
Not really, take this one for example: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07DLZXZV1/?coliid=I1UOMZGKABDDGQ&colid=2CYKLBP43KX2N&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I don't personally have this one but I probably will in the future so be warned

The Schrade pen is the best tactical style pen out there. If you can find the rainbow titanium one get that, but it's discontinued for a while.
The Streamlight Microstream is a great light. Rechargeable USB, two modes, light enough to clip to your collar, it's my favorite small light.
Stethoscopes from Kila Labs are a great value for someone new to EMS. They have performance as good as a certain other high performance brand, without the cost. I recommend them to a lot of new medics, and they can always upgrade when the fat overtime checks start coming in.
The details make the difference when you talk about protecting yourself in EMS. The Sabre gel OC spray is small enough for discrete carry. The shaped container makes it easy to aim, and hard to accidentally discharge. The gel sticks, especially important when people are wearing masks, and it won't easily blow around in light winds. The gel makes a big splat, but unlike the foam, it's hard for the target to throw back on you. The gel also won't off gas if you spray somebody, then have to put them in your ambulance and transport them. Try that with MSI's OC/CS mix and you'll experience the difference. It works on dogs, too. I love dogs as much as the next guy, but sometimes you find a bad one.

The added recharchability would be a nice feature to have so I dont gotta replace batteries.
And throw in a Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 pocket light, stupid bright and nice. Or a Streamlight Microstream with a clip (the tan version defaults to High when you click it on)
