I'd recommend perusing the following books for inspiration on how applying social psych can be interesting:
*Mistakes Were Made (But Not By Me)
*Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion
Like others have said, it's pretty hard to make social psych boring! (And I think it's awesome you get to teach it to high school students!)
Have you read this book?

Very interesting discussion on the attempt to measure emotional state, and compare it between individuals.
I believe I read the same thing in this book
first of all, all these options are pretty terrible for alot of reasons and are unlikely to result in a relationship that would last to be what you currently have.
Seems like you have some self esteem issues and are so flattered by the increase in attention you dont know what to do. If you arent happy with your gf, your house, your kid, the life you have, then leave her on her own merrits because you dont believe in the relationship anymore and you want to be single but not because you felt flattered by some specific attention that you have imagined into some idealistic possibility it will never live up to, it is really the only respectful/ functional way to deal with this at all.
you should talk to your counselor and also check out a book called stumbling on happiness which will help you because your problem is all the what ifs, but it will shed some light on the way you are predicting things that havent happened and whether that will make any sense or not if they do
