This is the one I got. There’s a lot of good options on Amazon, some cheaper than this. I just liked this one based on reviews.
I use the Peloton app with a non-Peloton bike. I bought my bike from the Devil Bezos at the end of March. It's by a company called Sunny and it was $400. It's this one.
A gym friend bought another from the same brand that's a bit more high end. Neither of us have had issues. I swapped out the pedals on mine so I can clip in with my spinning shoes.
The Peloton app has a ton of other stuff on it too. I take yoga classes, and they also have strength, meditation, running, walking, bootcamp, and some other stuff I am forgetting about. For $15/month I am so getting my money's worth.
I use the Peloton app with my Sunny spin bike. I added a cheap cell phone mount and a cadence tracker, and it gives me everything I need for about $400 total. If you do rides where you're jogging/standing I'd suggest looking for a heavy flywheel to help keep the bike steady and balanced. I have this one.

I have this EXACT same set up!! It is amazing. I think all in (if you don’t count my iPad) this set up cost me $375 maybe? I know my sunny bike goes on sale quite regularly. I’d get the 49lb flywheel as I heard the 40lb flywheel can feel a little less stable. But this is the same hack that I did with the wahoo cadence tracker!
I just ordered the Sunny Health & Fitness Spin Bike Belt Drive Indoor Cycle Exercise Bike - SF-B1002 for $349 (Amazon) based on the reviews. Same brand but seems to do a decent job much cheaper. It is supposed to arrive on Thursday, I'll update what I think of it then.

Here’s the one I got and have been happy with it! You don’t need slip in shoes. If you do prefer clip ins I have a friend with the same bike who ordered different pedals.
I bought this bike specifically to use with AF+ and I love it. Smooth, quiet, and easy to put together. If you want cadence and such you can find sensors to attach to it for around $80 that can communicate to your iPhone.
I bought the Sunny stationary bike from amazon. It was like $250 earlier this year. Then I signed up for the Peloton app (free for 3 mo then $13ish thereafter) that I play on my TV while I ride. The classes are awesome, btw! I wanted to buy a bike to see if I’d even like biking. It’s been great and such a cheap alternative to Peloton.
I already have a treadmill that’s similar to Peloton’s and I hate how shitty the tech is and how it crashes every once in a while in the middle of a run. I didn’t want that again with another expensive piece of equipment, so I bought a computer-less bike. Well worth it for me. That said, I think Peloton has a money-back guarantee so it may be worth a try! But check out the reviews on the Amazon bike to see how others have fitted their bike to be like a Peloton!
I bought the low end Sunny Health and Fitness B1002 and I love it. I ride it pretty hard, 5-7 days a week, am 160 lbs... it's solid. It is as solid as anything I've used at a gym. https://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Health-Fitness-SF-B1002-Cycling/dp/B00467H5YW
Depends on your budget! A popular bike is the Sunny and health bike for under $400
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00467H5YW
Technically a spin bike would be a spinner bike, but there are better bikes for less money. For a little more and to get a more commercial grade I would consider the sole SB700 which is my most popular bike.
If your resistance has gone it could be the felt pads just need to be realigned, or replaced. They do wear out!
This was what I used when I was over 370. I also recommend buying a more comfortable bike seat. This is the one I got:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MX33HXT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That said, I'd also say go for the rogue or the Titan if it suits your fancy. Any of the three of these should be fine for supporting your weight. The biggest thing is if this is an exercise that you'll find yourself doing regularly. I got a Concept2 rower because I really enjoy doing it. Of course, if you're into cycling, then you're going down the right path. Good luck, man.
I built my own DIY stationary bike set up and just use the Peloton app on my iPad.
I did all this at the end of last year so things have gone up in price a bit due to the popularity of home workout equipment during COVID, but I spent under $400 and do not feel like I miss out on anything by not being able to participate in the leaderboard.
If you are considering a DIY but want a more complete product than the Sunny bike the BowFlex C6 Bike seems to be a more complete alternative (it has a $1000 price tag, but that is still $900 cheaper than the Peloton bike). I actively participate in the Peloton subreddit and while reviews are mixed, most people who are app users with DIY home setups do not feel like they are missing out on anything by not having the Peloton bike itself.
That being said, the Peloton app / library of workouts is 100% worth it regardless of how to access it.
I bought this one off of Amazon and am quite happy with it:

TailHappyTV reviews lots of bikes on YouTube. I think he is 6'5" and said he had to lower the seat on this particular bike.
For those curious it’s a Sunny Bike with BBC a 49lb fly wheel.

I told someone this the other day (stole this from youtube and I can't remember the person's channel)
Buy:
I already owned a heartbeat sensor but you can get one for ~$90-100. This is the one I have.
Tons of people already have tablets but you could honestly use your phone for accessing the app. The tablet is just nicer cause the screen is a bit larger and easier to tap when you're huffing and puffing. I pay for the subscription but that is going to cost regardless of whether you have the official bike or not.
Congrats you've just mirrored most of the features of a Peloton bike for ~1/4 the price if you're getting the cheapest Peloton bike available. It's not going to be as "crisp" and there are features you won't have like you won't see your power output and you won't see the exact number to denote your resistance but you can approximate with what feels right for you.
I will admit that I like their bike and strength/cardio workouts and the 'gamification' helps motivate me to ensure I keep streaks going and I compete with some friends/family memebers to get the most active hours for the months/year. But I can't just drop ~1700 on an exercise bike.
I have a Sunny brand bike - this one.

FWIW, I bought this one off Amazon and did just that... for about 3 months until I decided I'd just rather have the real deal. But it was a very good bike that did the job just fine.
Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a spin bike. I'm about 240 lbs and 6 feet tall. I saw a couple on Amazon but I'm having trouble choosing. Is there anyone here that would be knowledgeable that can help me find something in the 200 - 300 dollar range? I found these models:

Sunny Health & Fitness Exercise Cycling Bike with Heavy 49 LB Chrome Flywheel
Hey gang, anyone have experience with exercise bikes? I want to incorporate a piece of cardio equipment into a small space and am a big fan of biking. My budget is around $500 and I dont need a fancy screen so I don't want to go for a Peloton or Nordic Track. The reviews online seem to point to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00467H5YW/?coliid=ITN41GP0X210Q&colid=2DHMY3WKPJSP8&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D528W98/?coliid=I1YASD23MDZY6O&colid=2DHMY3WKPJSP8&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it as top contenders for what I'm looking for. Users appear to have a problem with flywheel noise in some cases so I looked at https://www.amazon.com/JOROTO-Magnetic-Resistance-Exercise-Stationary/dp/B07Q2697YN because one review stated the added magnetic component quieted the flywheel. Any advice in my search would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
Depends on what you are looking to do - for a good all around indoor spin bike I would recommend the Sunny bike on Amazon - I have had it for a little under a year and I love it. I use it with the Peloton app so I eventually purchased a cadence sensor to add to it, but otherwise I love it.

If you are looking for a little pricier, but all encompassing bike the Bowflex C6 seems to be the best out of the box option.

Fair warning though, there seems to be a bit of price gouging at the moment on indoor workout equipment. I bought the Sunny for $100 less and last I checked the Bowflex was about $200 less than it is now..

I have this and it’s fine for LISS. It did develop some creaking after about 6 months but tightening up the screws and some lube fixed it right up.
Selling Sunny Fitness spin bike, with Wahoo cadence sensor and Shimano clipless pedals. Total cost to me was about $400, it's all only about a year old and I haven't really used it that much (I much prefer running and rowing). It's a great setup for a poor man's Peloton experience. Looking for $300 but open to offers.
If it helps your search, I ended up going with a completely analog bike. I think I might get the Peleton app and strap an iPad to it.
Sunny Health & Fitness Belt Drive Indoor Cycling Bike, Grey https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00467H5YW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-5HlAbP0WVDKF
The Apple Watch can track heart rate so the only thing missing is speed/distance. If I really wanted that, I might eventually look at a separate sensor like this one: https://www.wahoofitness.com/devices/bike-sensors
Hope that helps in your decision making!
I got this spin bike last winter and it works very well. The picture they are showing now looks correct, but wrong color. The one I got is grey, which is also the color they say it is, but showing black.
Belt drive keeps it smooth and quiet. 49 pound flywheel is heavy and I can easily feel the burn it creates. You will notice Heavier flywheel will also be more balanced which keeps your legs in working order with smooth pedaling.
Easy adjustments all over the bike. Handle bars, seat, legs to balance. Pedals screw in like a bike so you can get an extra pair of pedals to clip in with your typical bike shoes. With the heavy flywheel I find that I don't need to crank up the resistance much when changing my work outs. I've used spin bikes at the gym where it takes 5 full turns more on resistance to actually feel like you are going up hills. This guy here is 1-2 turns max and it kills.
According to camelcamelcamel it's also about $50-60 cheaper, which I feel is a steal for what you get.
The 49 pound flywheel might be too heavy depending on how much you ride, but you wont ever have to worry about needing more resistance with this. I really doubt very many people could out grow this to the point they need more resistance.
