I just found this extractor after reading u/RichTheRuler_'s suggestion of the Tub Twista. Ordered it tonight and I hope it will do the job.

Being in Canada means fewer options to choose from.

Are you able to use a saw and cut the top section off since you're replacing it anyway? Same thing happened to me with the cross member breaking. Not sure mine was as stuck as your but this worked well for me. Maybe use it with a breaker bar?

If that does not work, use a saw to cut groves on the inside corner of the drain just deep enough to get a chisel in so you can tap the chisel with a hammer and rotate the drain like a giant screw.

Tub Drain Extractor this is the tool I ordered.

You'll need one of these bad boys, some plumbers putty, and a new drain.
Even with that tool it can be a pain to remove the old drain though.

I've had this problem before, and the tools I've link below is what's going to get you out of this trouble and if you use a plumber he'll probably use the same type of tools to free up the clog in your tub.

Depending on your situation I would recommend you look at some YouTube videos to get an idea how to unclog your drain.
