Makes sense--I'm sure even in an ideal world of fully automated luxury communism there would still be people with psychological issues like this, there would still be social alienation (as Corey Robin said here, 'socialism is about converting hysterical misery into ordinary unhappiness'), but there'd probably be a lot less of it. Reminds me of a book that's on my to-read list, Suspicious Minds: How Culture Shapes Madness...one of the amazon reviews says The Golds posit “social defeat” -- which occurs when someone is persistently demeaned, humiliated, or subordinated -- as a potent factor in breaking down the vulnerable psyche.
