Unfortunately I haven’t thoroughly looked into which one is best but you could search ones similar to this Fooey! Something spicy can get in his eyes and that'll be a bad vet visit. Bitter apple spray is good but I've had a lot of people tell me it only works for a day. Fooey is a lot better. It's a bitter spray as well but it's DISGUSTING, which is what you want, and it won't harm him. Cats are also sensitive to citrus, maybe try squirting orange or lemon juice on your wires. It'll be sticky but it's a cheaper and natural alternative. Play time is essential too. Not only getting him his own toys but playing with him to tire him out with a teaser toy or a laser pointer helps a ton. It curves the natural instinct to kill everything lol Good luck!
It looks like this spray is supposed to keep rabbits away from your chewables. We used something similar for my dogs back when they were puppies and it worked well.
