We recently bought this deep fryer when the price dropped and the oil filtration system helps a lot. There's still some cleanup but not nearly as much as usual.

It's not 10L of oil, but I got this fryer which helped with my main complaint about frying at home: how much of a pain in the ass the cleanup is. And it handles maintaining a temperature for you rather than having to use a thermometer and adjusting the burner.
Probably only worth it if you want to fry more than once in a blue moon, though.
This is the one you want, it lives on my counter although it's not as small as you might like:
T-Fal FR8000 Single Basket Deep Fryer
It's got a filter in the lid, so no splatters while frying. The odors are reasonable, you can't totally escape the smell of oil up to frying temp.
The best part is the filter for draining the oil back into the plastic bin after you're done (there's a temperature based thing to it so it won't drain until the oil has cooled down enough). And once the oil has drained it leaves all of the crispy bits behind for easy cleaning. You can reuse the oil several times until it gets too dark for your liking.
I have two, both of which I got from Amazon, but this is the one I highly recommend. The auto filtration feature is great and really made cleanup a lot easier. Also extends the life of our oil.
What model do you have? My old fryer is a shitty 3-litre Hamilton Beach one which is a bitch to clean. I'm looking for one of a similar size which is easier to clean. The T-fal FR8000 has been looking pretty good so far.
Grilling and fry parties are the best. I try to BBQ every holiday I can. There's just something special about sitting around a grill, throwing back a few shitty light beers, and shooting the shit with the family.
I adore this fryer: [link]
It automatically filters the oil into the bottom chamber when it's cooled enough and then you just throw the fryer vat in the dishwasher. The oil stores with the fryer and I hang into it until it gets darker or I've fried fish.
Like any little home fryer you have to cook in small batches (which is lousy when entertaining large groups), but it works quite well. I can fry around a dozen chicken wings at a time without the fryer getting crowded.
This appears to be the same model, but actually available? [link]
And that's extremely cruel. Telling people to look at the customer photos, especially on food.... so hungry.
