this is another great reference. I feel this with Flexner's book is what every woodworker and finisher should have.
Thanks. The front baffle was really a grain finishing project. I read a ton about different woods and grains (http://www.amazon.com/Tauntons-Complete-Illustrated-Guide-Finishing/dp/1561585920) this was a great book cover to cover.
I'd really like to highlight to anyone reading that I messed up a lot on these projects. On the speakers alone I probably made 10 different baffles (out of MDF before switching to mahogany) before getting two I was happy with. Even these two I want to redo.
As for the front screws, yeah, I think you're right. Most speaker design has a bolted front baffle (there are a bunch of electronics in there and it helps to be able to take it apart) However, I think I might bolt on the rear baffles going forward and save the faces for clean wood.
