You need a combination of a carbon filter + duct fan to effectively scrub vocs in a room of your size. Go for 6” or better 8” duct fan + a carbon filter 8”x24” size of so. Ideally to come up with correct size you need to know the volume of your room in cubic feet and then have that volume of air go through the filter every 2-3 minutes. Activated Carbon works very well for VOCs, it absorbs anything that goes through it, but as with any filters eventually the medium inside the filter will get saturated and the filter will have to be replaced. The fan is needed to pull the air through the bed of carbon inside the filter and either exhaust it outside through the window or just constantly recirculate air in the room through the filter. You can expect around 12 months out of the filter depending how often you will be using it in such application.
Hydroponics grow companies offer the products that you need, as the same setups are often used to scrub odors in pot growing application. Check out a product like this on amazon:

These set ups will be a lot more effective than any air purifiers for home applications, as they can scrub a lot more air per unit of time and are way more effective than residential use devices when dealing with VOCs. The downside is that at full speed they are quite loud but if you get a fan which comes with a good speed controller in set you can fine tune the speed according to your need and noise requirement.
