Pretty easy to do your self...but shouldnt take someone with the tools more than 15minutes to do.

I am planning on installing one on my car. Under the plate the battery and related components are exposed. In particular there is a coolant hose, and if the nipple connecting it to the battery breaks Tesla will require the entire battery to be replaced ($$$$): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8-OkfCcRAo

Huge weakness with the battery cables exposed in that area that large fast moving objects can easily penetrate the fiber/plastic protection Tesla provides for protection.

Same happened to me...up here in colorado Rocks on the road are very common and they destroy the felt shield...if that's the case for you i'd recommend getting this:
