Irving Finkel wrote an interesting book about the archeology and origins of the Flood Story. He got into a lot of trouble because his findings contradict the Bible’s version. What Finkel found was an incredibly detailed instructions on how to make the Ark in ancient cuneiform. On a scale that is simply mind boggling but what’s more fascinating was the calculations contained in the tablet eg. the materials needed, was mathematically sound. Allah says in the Quran:
> And build the Ark under Our ˹watchful˺ Eyes and directions, and do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong, for they will surely be drowned.”

I find it may be more useful to acknowledge the older myth from which the biblical flood myth is derived, than to argue about the historicity of the biblical version on any grounds.
