It's already been said, but his autobiography was published. He describes going through several phases of his own life, reflecting on moments of his childhood where he saw examples of racism in the US that would eventually lead to his radicalism as an adult. He also discusses his retirement from that life later, when he converts to Islam and becomes more motivated by peace. The dude really had a life that's worth examining.
If you want an insight into modern African American culture and gain insight into attitudes during the civil rights movement of the 60's then I'd recommend The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told to Alex Haley.
For the Black Panthers:
There's Malcolm X's biography recorded and written by Alex Haley, writer of Roots.
Another book called Black Against Empire: History of the Black Panther Party, supposedly very good.
For the Irish Republican Army:
Here's an extensive list from Goodreads.
Hope that helps you get started, OP. Knowledge is power. :)
EDIT: and you can always posit specific questions to /r/AskHistorians. They'll take a while to formulate and you may not get a response, but when you do it's usually a good one.
Good lord, if this is how most Americans think you people are doomed. Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fbvquHSPJU
It's interesting how out of my entire OP you've decided to derail the main matter - sexual assault and abuse. You have poor critical thinking skills and don't realize how ignorant you actually are.
I would encourage you to read the autobiography of Malcolm X.

Also, your inability to remain calm and use reason says a lot about you. The language you choose to use is very telling about who you are as a person.
For sure comrade.
Sorry for the long link.
Malcolm X autobiography. By Alex Haley
Have you studied at all on Malcolm X?
I suggest you read:
> So then, any race could call their own race a "nigga"? This is just the romantic version of that word. The reality is much more ugly. And if using" nigga" broke the power of that word, blacks shouldn't get mad when whites use it. At all.
It's still a very controversial topic. I'm not saying they've completely solved the issue or that they ever will, I'm just saying where they hope to go with it.
>So then, any race could call their own race a "nigga"? This is just the romantic version of that word. The reality is much more ugly ... Blacks are brainwashed to use that word; white racists are probably laughing to themselves and coming up with phoney justifications to keep it going.
This is exactly the other side of the debate, and is one that you could make a very strong case for. The NAACP would agree with you. Those last couple sentences have a very Malcolm X-esque feel to them, even. I, personally, am still on the fence about this issue. I'm just trying to explain the other side of the coin to provide some perspective. You even make a pretty good case here:
>And really, does a PhD professor celebrate his degree by calling himself stupid? No. Because "stupid" is a slam against his intelligence and he has enough pride to not call himself that. So then why should a black person celebrate the end of slavery and being called a nigger, by calling himself a nigger (or even the slang term of what white slave owners would call him)? That's insanity. America didn't celebrate it's independence by waving the exact same British flag.
I'm sorry if everything I said about shame came off as condescending.
And no, I would not call you "nigga." I have some pretty strong opinions on use of the word, but I'm afraid I'm a bit of a hypocrite in practice. Right now my use of the word is exclusively academic [as in only when talking about the word itself, as we are now, never in reference to another person] with the occasional joke with my very closest friends. Overall though, I believe in the mission to disarm the power of the word "nigga" to the point where even white people can use it colloquially as many minority groups do.
I don't have much else to say about your post, but I would encourage you to read up on Malcolm X. You have a very similar point of view as him. It would do you well to read his autobiography and watch Spike Lee's biopic on him. I would also caution you to speak a little less aggressively when discussing sensitive issues, and be a little more careful about generalizations.
Think Malcom X was a real kick ass. Holy Molly!

"By Any Means Necessary."
Said in calm, and toned voice, by one cool dude wearing an awesome suit and a skinny tie. That's it.
"By Any Means Necessary."
If you have not read his biography, just do. Will fire you up for sure, not matter what your cause. This book should be required reading for any millenial. And it's one hell of a book.
