Another interesting book on the subject: Edward Jay Epstein's The Big Picture: Money and Power in Hollywood. He's got a more recent book on the subject (The Hollywood Economist 2.0), but I have not read it yet.

There's a fascinating book called The Big Picture by Edward Jay Epstein that analyzes the various business aspects of the entertainment industry.
One section looks at the movie theater business, it's very interesting to see how theater chains (in the concession/advertising business) and studios (into selling movies) are conflicted in their goals. Article is here
