Another thing to consider is a pedal lock, I used one in high school on my civic, i would put it around the clutch pedal. You pull it super tight to the pedal. Car was broken into twice and they couldn’t get it off. Obviously there’s ways around it but could be worth looking at. Amazon link

sounds like a solid way for insurance to say they aren't covering the theft and inevitable totaling of your vehicle when there's no brakes because of a modification you made?
steering wheel locks are worthless, a thief with 2 minutes with a hacksaw will cut through the steering wheel and remove the steering wheel lock.

I recommend this (not the exact one. I bought mine at AutoZone). And it's not a one and done thing. But, with a proper anti-theft device installed and this. You'll really test the patience of it would be thief.

The club will not protect your car from theft as you can see, they can cut right through the steering wheel with a hacksaw.
People in the know use one of these. Though I can't say how good the lock is on it, they'll have to saw away at it for quite some time to get it off.
I use this one. They can cut your steering wheel if they really wanted your car when you use the steering wheel club. Where as this one is all metal pressed against the floor pan. It is cheaper than an alarm and actually prevents theft.
I use one of these on my Integra:
I think it actually prevented someone from jacking my car once.
The description is not correct. This doesn't attach to the steering wheel at all. It cranks against the brake or clutch and is self suspended.
Don't bother with the steering wheel locks. I had a car jacked while using one of those.
Bit of advice. Don't rely on anything that goes on the steering wheel. Pro thieves will attack the weakest point of the system which is the steering wheel. Steering wheels can easily be cut through in 30 seconds with a $10 hacksaw so any anti-theft device that locks to the steering wheel is not secure.
Instead look for one that locks the brake in the up position, (bracing against the floor, not locked to the steering wheel). These are designed to prevent the crook from shifting out of P. If you can't shift out of P, you can't steal the car.
The best one I knew of was the club model #CL606 but this seems to be impossible to find now. There is one knockoff from China on Amazon. Can't vouch for quality but principle is sound. There are other style brake locks too but again, I can't vouch for quality.
Yeah “the club” company also made the brake-wheel lock Brake Lock

I've gone through lots of car theft and vandalism issues as well.
Where I've ended up is:
Buy the vehicle you want that fits your budget. Always lock it with windows up 100% of the time, no exceptions. Keep anything and everything out of plain view from the windows. Use a brake-club locking device. It's all important but the last point is critical. Steering wheel clubs are defeated in less than a minute with a $1.00 hacksaw blade. A properly deployed brake club is defeated, essentially, only by power tools.
I highly recommend this brake club

I have one and I'm pretty sure it prevented my Integra from being stolen in a Target parking lot.
I personally own this one, which is really easy to place/remove but still provides complete lock to the pedal you apply it to.

I have a Club Brake Lock although I use it on my clutch instead of the brake pedal and I feel pretty secure knowing it's attached.
Because I own one of these, I wouldn't recommend the brake locks that OP had linked to because they're too short.
My Club brake lock is pretty long and I still have problems trying to get the hook around the clutch pedal. I couldn't imagine trying to get the hook around the pedal while also crouching way down to lock/unlock the lock.
The brake lock from the eBay link looks like you have to crouch from outside the car to lock/unlock it because the steering wheel looks like it would prevent you from crouching down far enough to lock/unlock it.
