YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE! You are not a label. You are not a textbook check off list. Don’t let BPD define you. Support groups, DBT, CBT & medication can help you. Setting boundaries with others giving yourself grace is a good start. Here’s a link to DBT cards that helped me. When things get hard it’s okay to back off a little. Here’s the thing with BPD. People with BPD have a poor sense of self. Because of this we are constantly trying to find a mask that fits and someone to validate it. This is where the trouble happens. You are a good cause and there is so much HOPE!

I guess the best way I can describe it is by saying: treat yourself like you are treating your best friend. If you can go out of your way to make them feel better, why can't you do that yourself? It's corny, it's weird, it's silly at first. But once you develop the habit to treat yourself with that nice meal, those nice shoes, that game, or just staying home and watch that awesome show while you're eating that nice delicious meal. Doing anything that makes you feel relaxed, happy and comfortable. Is basically developing a good relationship with yourself.
At the same time, connecting with positive, good people who inspire you and motivate you to be the very best version of yourself. You start finding yourself having a stronger, more confident attitude towards yourself.
I also bought these cards on CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy), that ask you random positive questions. https://www.amazon.com/DBT-Deck-Clients-Therapists-Relationships/dp/1683731441
Just read one card a day and think about it throughout the day. It keeps your mind focused and keeps you away from those ruminating thoughts.
My parents are the same way. I have done DBT, ACT, and CBT. They have some really great cards on Amazon. They are very useful in learning to be more mindful and emotionally regulated. They have really helped improve my self-esteem and anxiety issues.
