The ancient Egyptians would cut off the hands of captured warriors who were circumcised, and the penises of captured warriors who were not circumcised (or maybe I have that backwards). The Stele from the battles with the Sea Peoples showed both piles of parts. Since most tribes were circumcised or not as a tribal matter, the two sets of piles showed that the Sea Peoples - a wave of people so damned angry that they burned and destroyed every city in the world (except 2 in Egypt) more than once. Drews mentions this in the book The End of the Bronze Age: Changes in Warfare and the Catastrophe of ca. 1200 B.C.
