I've seen families with wheeled carts loaded with groceries and their kids and strollers making their way along the subway. It's not impossible - if you live near one of the other subway stops, then it's entirely doable.
Whether they're going to shop at Trader Joe's is another story, although TJ's prices aren't that bad.
