I just finished this book and highly recommend it. It doesn’t actually get into the crimes but describes the women who were murdered and all about their histories and lives. If you are interested in life in Victorian England you will probably find it fascinating.
The author posits that some of the women or not sex workers at all but in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I don't know if you've read The Five ( https://www.amazon.com/Five-Untold-Lives-Killed-Ripper/dp/0358299616/ ) but it seems to me that the majority of the victims were just sleeping rough/homeless/using doss houses for sleeping vs being actual sex workers. It's interesting to read about what led them to living on the margins of society vs just being written off as prostitutes (at least in terms of Victorian society and what's filtered down to us through the years.)
