This is how the Army Corp works. There was sediment pouring into these areas and fishermen had to go way off shore to catch what they can now catch super close. The Amry Corps built the levees which stopped the sediment and killed the marshes, making inland areas prone to stronger storms. This inadvertently allowed fishing to happen much closer to shore. Now they want to reverse it.
For the record, I appreciate the levees and support the diversion since I don’t fish and live in the city. I also understand where the fishermen are coming from and how they would have to completely change or lose their businesses.
It’s a Catch-22.
