Finished our nursery just a few weeks before our team green baby was born! I love color, so didn't want to do a neutral color palette. I went all in with my own retro 70s inspired stripes. This was a complete reno which included helping my husband hang and finish the drywall while heavily pregnant. Can't believe how cute it turned out! Baby girl arrived 5/22 and we are thrilled. Most of the items we used for the room are second hand, but I'll include the few things we purchased.
Top 5 things in this nursery:
1) The absolute best purchase is our Philips hue lights and motion sensor. We have it set so that the lights automatically turn on, dimmed, so when we walk in with her to change in the middle of the night we don't even have to turn on the light switch. It's amazing. I love the future! Philips hue motion sensor
2) The repurposed rocking chair and foot stool. Both from our college days! I spray painted the chair and bought cushions for it from Amazon. It is shockingly comfy and great to breastfeed in! Cushions for chair: amazon
3) Wipe warmer specifically for cloth wipes. Keeps them nice and warm and wet so we can use our cloth wipes without having to wet them in a sink each time. cloth wipe warmer
4) I wanted a rug that serves a function rather than just looking cute. I had a similar one and logged MANY hours playing with it as a kid so I hope she loves it. play town rug
5) This is the mattress we went with for our floor bed. bundle of dreams mattress
