Fabozzi's basically wrote the bible of fixed income. I work on a buy side fixed income investment team, we have a bunch of copies of this bad boy. If you were to read it cover to cover you will get a full spectrum if the entire fixed income market.
Our quant helped write the section on valuing bonds with embedded options. Sections of this book show up in the CFA institute books when you study for the charter using their materials.
Y could just read the sections that are about the segment of the market your interested in.
I'm in banking - fixed income. I know they give new analysts this book. Haven't read it myself.
