I'm not a member of this sub, but I have managed to quit smoking. Here's what worked for me:
Check out a book called "The Easy way to Stop Smoking." The author does an excellent job of explaining exactly how dumb smoking is in a way that even someone who was put off by calling smoking dumb will understand.
Get a pack of drinking straws, cut them down to 3inch/7.5cm lengths, when you feel the urge to have a smoke puff on your straw instead! You can keep part of the habit while helping to kick the addiction.
Don't tell your friends and family who still do smoke, they'll try to knock you off the wagon. =/
Chantix and Wellbutrin XR went a hell of a long way to help break the physical addiction which made dealing with the psychological and habitual component significantly easier.
You can do this, I believe in you! Quitting is hard, but you're harder.
