James Bradley, author of "Flags Of Our Fathers" (the same movie Clint Eastwood directed) wrote two great books about it...The Imperial Cruise and The China Mirage. Highly recommend...very eye opening!

Korea

Cambodia
● neutral leader of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk led his country to independence from racist western imperialists in 1954. His neutral policy was unacceptable to USA.
● pro-west capitalist puppet / brutal dictator, Lon Nol (used by USA's CIA to control Cambodia between 1970-1975). Lon Nol led a USA-backed coup on Norodom Sihanouk in 1970.

Vietnam War
The following two wanted to unify the country through a nation wide vote:
● Pro-communist South Vietnamese Viet Cong underground movement (also known as National Liberation Front) led by Ho Chi Minh and backed by China
● Pro-communist North Vietnamese Army (also known as NVA or People's Army of Vietnam or PAVN).
The following two were pro-west puppets and traitor to the Vietnamese people, who prevented Vietnam from gaining freedom:
● Emperor Bao Dai, a pro-French puppet - ruler of Vietnam (before the North and South split)
● USA funded a pro-west dictator instead, Ngo Dinh Diem, an anti-communist South Vietnamese politicians. Their army is called Army of the Republic of Vietnam (also known as ARVN)
This was started using the Gulf of Tonkin lie to prevent Vietnam from pursuing communism (although, you could say it started at the end of WW2 when Vietnam was fighting the French for indepedence). Note: India was excluded because the pattern of propping up pro-western puppets and squashing communist/nationalist leadership is something that seemed to occur mainly starting around 1930-40's. However, it doesn't mean they were any less brutal there.
