This is pretty off topic but the cartoon reminded me of "The Kobold Wizard's Dildo of Enlightenment +2." It is an incredibly stupid story about a D&D campaign run by 14 year old sex-crazed male DM who really has no idea how sex works or what women are like. The elf in the cartoon could be one his NPCs.

Yep. Stories have been done where the protags are aware they're in a work of fiction, and some of them have the protags grapple with the knowledge that they themselves are fictional characters.

And I'm about to make myself look bad because the example I can think of that most closely matches the bill is the spectacularly trashy The Kobold Wizard's Dildo of Enlightenment +2 (An Adventure for 3-6 Players, Levels 2-5) by Carlton Mellick III :)
