I know the agony. My heart goes out to you.
Great resource. Food for thought.

You need to address the trauma recovery first. Seek out a trauma-informed therapist. Possibly even EMDR. You should also consider attending a trauma focused recovery group such as ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) because community support, even if you are a lonewolf, is invaluable.

This is a guided meditation to help you steer towards loving-healing energies:
Thanks for asking! Right now, I'm involved with The Loving Parent Guidebook. It comes out of ACA (Adult Children of America-- that's a joke, but based on something. Actually it's Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional families, and the loving parent guidebook came out of that -- Big Red Book -- 12-Step tradition. https://www.amazon.com/Loving-Parent-Guidebook-Solution-Become-ebook/dp/B09D9VLVVH/ref=sr_1_1?crid=C8LWQDGCTLHX&keywords=loving+parent+guidebook+aca&qid=1649974033&sprefix=loving+parent%2Caps%2C611&sr=8-1) I think I mentioned I wake up often wanting to kill myself. The Loving Parent Guidebook (it's previewed/sampled on Amazon) introduced me to the Critical Parent. It seems this (the critical parent-- there are four family members in all: Loving Parent, CP, Inner Child and Inner Teen) is what is telling me to kill myself and/or take Paxil (along with many other URGENT messages). Today I didn't feel like killing myself., so I actually have not actually directly interacted with the CP yet, but I am sure one 'fine' morning I will. I only mention this because you asked and seem to care, and to tell you that this may mean that ACIM is not directly handling (from only the ACIM book) all my problems. Of course (Course), I am telling myself (Myself) that this new modality (Inner family/loving parent work) is from the Holy Spirit, so it's all good. I learned not too long ago to attribute any good thing that gives me peace and joy, or at least some real (spiritual) comfort to the Holy Spirit. I don't recall ACIM saying this. Wapnick said that it's all in the Course (ACIM book)-- i.e. I think he meant that you don't need other books or modalities to heal and find peace and joy and [spiritual] comfort. It seems like he is wrong, at least in my case. So this is what has been happening lately. I have needed to add to my spiritual palette. Does this mean that if I only stuck to the Course like Wapnick suggests I would kill myself or take Paxil? (living suicide) Who knows. Maybe I'll ask his organization. But who is Wapnick anyway? Just one more commentator in the end. I didn't ask about you. Maybe next time, after you digest this for a while. Thanks for asking and seeming to care. I need all the love I can get.
