First I would like to encourage you to follow your dreams. We need young people who are excited about space exploration and science.
Second, I would echo what others have said, I don't think you're going to get very far arguing with your dad.
Third, I would like to point out the reason why you won't get far. You won't get far because your dad is working from the top-down instead of the bottom-up logically. Science starts with a fundamental set of rules and the understanding that on a given topic, there can be no conclusion until evidence is produced. While the Bible might say the beginning of wisdom is 'the fear of the Lord', Socrates says the beginning of wisdom is 'I don't know' (in so many words). The book of Genesis describes a flat, still earth with a protective dome (the sky) to separate the waters of the earth from the 'waters' in space. The earth existed in the center of the cosmos and the cosmos was much much smaller than what we understand today. All of that turned out to be wrong. If your dad is starting with a presupposed conclusion (the bible is infallible) not only is that the most unscientific view he can possibly take but it is a position that has led to countless errors.
A book I would suggest reading is 'James Hutton: The Man Who Found Time' which is a book about the father of modern Geology. He was one of the first men to understand the earth wasn't 6,000 years old. The book explains the opposition Hutton faced from the religious folks of the day.
