What is Reddit's opinion of The Myth of the Chemical Cure: A Critique of Psychiatric Drug Treatment?

Thanks for the info. I know nothing of Dr. Amy and don't have autism so not sure what I would waste my money on(?) I simply have read postings from parents of autistic children who claim some success with various nutritional treatments. I found some of her website publishing to be both interesting and scientifically extensive regarding the genetics elements, but otherwise know nothing about her and would never make any sort of recommendations to parents of autistic children as I know nothing at all about the disorder.

I do find it very interesting that many of the practitioners who are utilizing DNA data within their treatment protocols are not traditional family doctors or psychiatrists. It's definitely caused me to challenge my past bias of viewing typical ND's as snake oil salesman. It's simply not the case universally from my research. One who has helped me a lot locally has a PHD in nutrition and is also an MD. After a 20 year practice in conventional/traditional medicine she simply lost faith in the 'narrative' of the pharmo-medical racket, especially around issues of mood disorder and mental health. Agreed that there is a lot of snake oil being sold.. and far too much of it happens during pharmaceutical sales rep luncheon schmoozing involving conventional medical doctors and psychiatrists.. Many of them are as full of shit or misinformed as the worst ND in my humble opinion.

I don't want to scare anyone. I encourage you to do the research on these drugs and make your own informed decisions. Whatever you do, never stop taking this medication unless under a doctor's supervision. It can be dangerous. Here are some resources:
