Ah the headrest I purchased separately on Amazon. Its this one (H3 version for the classic Aeron model) https://smile.amazon.com/Engineered-Now-Headrest-Herman-Classic/dp/B005L9ATK6/ref=sr\_1\_5?dchild=1&keywords=herman%2Bmiller%2Bheron%2Bheadrest&qid=1624152771&sr=8-5&th=1
I have this one I think it made the chair more comfortable, support the same.
A wonderful start. You'll enjoy more leg room for sure. And can't imagine a better choice in chairs. I've had my own Aeron for 14 years. Just replaced the cylinder last month lol. Genuine life chair. Like the great white shark? ... you know the rest.
BTW: personally, this investment changed my Aeron game.
Have fun...
...
Nice work!
The lamp cord hanging out distracts a bit -- but its hard to find a proper clean/minimal lamp (I still havn't).
I love the aeron chair but hate that it lacks a headrest, I bought this one 2 years ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L9ATK6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks! The headrest is absolutely an essential accessory for me. I don’t find it particularly useful for me when I’m sitting up straight doing actual work. Where it really shines is when I’m off the clock lounging around at my leisure where I can typically be found leaning all the way back in my Aeron for extended periods of time reading, watching a movie, or whatever. I don’t remember being able to do this comfortably without a headrest. I paid over $150 for mine which admittedly is a bit steep. Yet, despite this, I can’t imagine having an Aeron without it. But that’s just me and how I use it. At the very least, I think it’s worth trialing out.
Here’s the Amazon US link, in case you wanna research and check it out yourself: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L9ATK6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1
Got it off Amazon
I think it's this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Engineered-Now-Original-Headrest-Classic/dp/B005L9ATK6
I have it but I wouldn't buy it again, range of motion isn't as large as I'd like and it's too deep so it rubs my headphones.
I think the Atlas headrest for the aeron is supposed to be better but I haven't tried it myself.
I’d recommend buying the headrest for it, a bit pricey but worth it imo. link

Black friday is coming up. A few years ago i bought my head rest on sale on amazon during black friday week, so it may be worth keeping an eye on that.
Got it for like $50 off.
It was this one and i really like it.

Cool. Hope you got a good price.
The only deficiency in the Aeron is the absence of a head/neck rest. I added one of these to mine. Fit and finish is pretty good, and it's been a good upgrade.
The headrest is made by Engineered Now and I am loving it! Here's a link to the headrest on Amazon. A couple of tips if you decide to give it a shot:
Holy shit just the headrest for a Herman Miller Aeron is $160.
If you have an Aeron this is the headrest I've been using. Aeron Headrest

You don’t need it though. I have an aeron.
You sit differently in a aeron.
ah, i read headsets lol, and amazon link
No worries ... BTW ... went back and looked at my Amazon orders and this is the exact one that I bought for my Aeron back in 2013 ... I think there are several different companies making them now but this one has stood the test of time quite well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L9ATK6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you for this post. I did this hack and had an excellent result. Very happy with my chair now. No drills, no warranty loss. Very stable and easy to do. Takes less than 5 min.
I used the Engineered Now H3 for classic headrest and this 24-inch zip ties from Amazon.
It looks like I got the headrest that fits the earlier model of the Aeron as this is the exact item I got off Amazon.
I have no clue to be honest. I bought the headrest for my chair off Amazon as opposed to directly from the Engineered Now site. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L9ATK6
The Hermann Miller Aeron has an optional headrest https://www.amazon.com/Engineered-Now-vendorgear-Kopfst%C3%BCtze-Klassische/dp/B005L9ATK6
ohh you can find head rests on ebay for alittle under 150.

Anyone tried Engineer Now's H3 or H4 headrests? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005L9ATK6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_S-BhFbBQKCYNK
It's available for purchase now:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005L9ATK6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ceKfFbSP4R26D
I felt the same way but honestly I never even noticed it.
However, if you must this one is made for it
https://www.amazon.com/Headrest-Herman-Miller-Aeron-Chair/dp/B005L9ATK6
Yeah, it's a third party add-on here. Really well made though kind of pricey for what it is.
