What are the historical sources about St Sreaphim teaching that? Searching around, I found a few websites that claimed this, but not much in the way of historical backing. The Amazon page for a book of the Rule also has a highly-rated negative review:
> The supposed Rosary of St Seraphim of Sarov is a hoax & a fabrication. It can only be found on about 3 websites that all reference the other 3. I am sad to see that someone is taking advantage of people's ignorance on this topic & selling it on Amazon for profit.
> We know the actual prayer rule St Seraphim gave to the nuns of Diveyevo convent when they would walk "the ditch" (path) 3x around their convent...150 Rejoice O Theotokos 1st lap, 150 Our Fathers 2nd lap, & then 150 prayers for other persons 3rd lap.
> We also know the actual prayer rule the Saint gave to laymen...Morning upon arising & before going to bed: Our Father 3x, Rejoice O Theotokos 3x & recite the Creed 1x. Then the Jesus prayer as able throughout the day during one's work. After dinner the Rejoice O Theotokos until time for bed.
> Any other type of "rosary" with meditations by St Seraphim of Sarov that is anything akin to the RCC rosary is pure fabrication from imagination. Don't fall for it...
I see you citing "Russian scholars" and quoting the name of an actual text, which sounds more grounded than the rando websites I've seen. Do you have more information about the history here?
There's the Rule of the Theotokos (it dates from the 9th century, was a lost devotion, and was re-discovered by St. Seraphim of Sarov) that you can pray with your Rosary! It's older than the Latin version.
A user here wrote it down in a guide a year or so ago.
There's also a book on it on Amazon.
I inherited my Grandfather, Grandmother, and Dad's Rosaries.
