> Look at the word in bold you big fucking dummy. Persecution is an infinitely broader concept than irrational fear. It is looking at the persecution of same sex relationships and using "homophobia" as a catch all title. I do not get why you are making this so fucking difficult. "-phobia" has, for a long fucking time, been used in various political contexts to refer to persecution that doesn't necessarily stem from irrational fear. It took me twenty seconds to find an example. For your sake, here's another:
Is it? If your argument is that all persecution is based on fear then it certainly isn't a broader concept in context. It took you 20 seconds to find something which wasn't an example, so if it's so easy to find an example I don't know why you would waste your time arguing instead of just finding a proper example.
Same problem as the last one, in context it could fit the proper definition and be fear related.
Same problem as the last two, in context it could fit the proper definition and be fear related. I don't think you understand what I mean by example of someone using it in a way that fits your definition.
I mean example of someone using it in a way that can't fit the old definition so it clearly is your definition.
>But that's true of this definition of Islamophobia too.
Um what?
> No, they're just hand-picked by the author for the sake of summarizing what the book is about.
No usually they are more about drawing attention then a summarization.
