I highyl recommend The Story of God by Chris Mattheson (https://www.amazon.com.br/Story-God-Biblical-Comedy-about/dp/1634310772). It tells all these entertaining and nonsensical stories from the Bible but without you having to read through thousands of pages. It's super hilarious! It's one of my favorite books. Actually now that I remembered about it, should pick it up again for the 1000th time.
