christina hoff sommers wrote a good book on anti-male tendencies in schools.
The War Against Boys is very data driven, and compares what is actually happening based on data, to what feminist claim are schoolgirls being "shortchanged."
The book Reviving Ophelia was somewhat contemporaneous, and is actually reviewed and criticized in Sommers' book. Much of the "narrative" in Reviving Ophelia is anecdotal, cherry picking, with a lot of emotional overlay and the usually feeling sorry for females (sexist damseling / chivalry) to promote the author's agenda. And most all of Reviving Ophelia is actually contradicted by the best available data, which Sommers presents very accurately.
I read the original (2001, first edition) of The War Against Boys. It has since been updated (2015, second edition), but I have not yet read the second edition. It's unfortunately that policy makers did not take up this book in a meaningful manner in the 15 years since its debut.
You can download & read the Amazon Kindle version of the second edition for $12. It is a very good read, and one of the very best MRA books out there.
A truly outstanding and, frankly, historic, work.
In many cases that is accurate, especially in education. Men are having a crisis where we are falling far behind in schooling in all almost all subjects and in getting degrees. The system is set to favor women and not men. It's such a big problem that is literally affecting the economy. Men are being affected primarily in America, but also around the world.
Yet Australia, New Zealand, and England, among other places, all see it as a problem and are actively promoting ways to help men rise to the status of women (boy only schools that encourage things like rough housing, tag, etc, as an example) while America is doing the opposite. There are major lobbying efforts by women organizations to go against men and stop such policies here. It's literally a war against boys

I'm sure I could find more examples if I searched harder. I found Farrell's book before I found Summers' book, which is why it has an eBay link.
If you start with Summers' book, Amazon will link you to other books about boys. These links may not last too much longer with feminazis on the loose.

> Christina Sommers . . . occup[ies] . . . their own unique brand of ideology and do[esn't] properly align with most of any larger movement.
First, if you're referring to Christina Hoff Sommers, author of The War Against Boys: How Misguided Feminism Is Harming Our Young Men, then this claim is patently false. As shown not only in her book's title but also its content, Sommers, as an avowed opponent of fauxgressive (pseudoleftist) contemporary feminism, clearly aligns with left-wing elements of the men's rights movement.
Second, why are you using the sex-neutral "they" pronoun, when it's obvious that Sommers is a woman?
