I'm 24 now, but when I was 16 - 17, those were some of the hardest years of my life. I distinctly remember sitting in the back of a vehicle after talking to some sort of counselor, and looking out the window and just having this overwhelming feeling that I just wanted to die.
I know it's really difficult to make friends in highschool. It's a very 'cliquey' environment, ie, drama geeks, jocks, rich kids, nerds, etc. It's truly not like that once you move onto college....it gets a lot better. Unfortunately I don't really have a lot of advice in regards to making friends....I was and still am incredibly introverted. I was lucky enough in high school to have a familiar group of friends from Jr. High.
You are very good at writing. I am assuming you like to read but, I have a book suggestion. It's called The Woman in the Mirror: How to stop confusing what you look like with who you are. It's available as a kindle book, and you can read it online with the computer / smartphone app. It also might be available online in PDF format on some of those free ebook websites. The book is really great, and it helped me alot. It's also sort of a 'work book' type of thing as well.
