If you already have a decent understanding of psychopathology, I would suggest Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy by Corey. It is a very decent review of the various schools of psychotherapy. The student manual is not bad either. Previous versions are dirt cheap. I'm using Corey's text to teach my 400-level clinical psych course this semester. The book's two main drawbacks are that it does not discuss assessment or substance abuse treatment in detail.
