It was! Obviously the pain isn't 100% better but there's immediate pressure relief. I've used it on my back and ankles. I have hEDS so it helps stabilize joints or something. If it's done right, it's always near immediate relief. If you Google image search kt tape TMJ or whatever area you need, it'll give you ideas and guides on how to apply them, such as how much stretch you should use. For my jaw I did like 20% stretch.
