I see, so you changed the case of your PC. I was struggling to understand what sort of case could go inside a PC...
I don't think this could be related to your problem. You could, however, take this disk out and try to connect it through an USB dock, just to be sure.
If it's just a bunch of spare drives, you could use something like a harddrive dock. It's not fancy, it's dirty and you have no real way of knowing what's on a drive till you attach it again, but it is fast and cheap.
Likely a cheap cable, as you should at least see the USB device show up.
What we do in the shop is use a caddy, such as this one, https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-External-Enclosure-Docking-ST0014U-D/dp/B01J4XNLN6 , to "slave" the drive. So long as the drive is good, you should be able to pull files off of it.
Do you have a working computer, and a "toaster" drive caddy? We've used these at work for many years to get data off of internal drives.
For quick testing I use a USB dock like this. It's also quite handy to have on hand for data recovery and imaging disks. Of course, it's only useful for SATA disks.
Yeah, you need to buy a hard drive reader that have it own external power like this one: Thermaltake BlacX Duet
I use the dock in the link below, along with a Samsung 870 evo ssd.
