The TN12 is a solid light. I second /u/sprinklerguy412's recommendation. The one I linked you to is the best version of the light (neutral white) and it comes from ThruNite's official Amazon storefront.
That specific TN12 bundle that you linked to is way overpriced, and it comes with a really shady charger. Here is a better listing by ThruNite Direct, ThruNite's official Amazon storefront.
Other than that, everything looks good.
I just recently bought the ThruNite TN12. I'd definitely recommend it. It's tough, not too big, fits in a pocket, especially with the metal belt clip. It's got a few easy to manage settings, no incredibly complicated clicky system or twisting and it auto turns on to the last used setting so all it takes is one click. It also has the option to hold the on button half down for quick use. It runs on an 18650 which I would buy from Orbtronic if I were you, that's where I got mine. It also has a strobe setting if that'd be something you're interested in. If you have Amazon Prime you can get the shipping free too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EWW91S8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Ah yeah that would be very useful.
So I need it on Amazon because that's where I have credit. I don't see a Nichia 219B version. Does this mean they don't have the color accurate version?
Edit: Also, would this one suggested elsewhere be color accurate since it's Neutral White?
I'm not sure what country you are in but here is the NW version on U.S. Amazon for about $40. That's a great price!
Your website is an invaluable resource for this community and has been a great help to me personally, so thank you! Should I be so lucky, the TN12 NW looks quite nice.
Already have 18650s might as well get another light that uses them.
Thank you for doing the giveaway. Just discovered this sub and hoping to find my first genuine good light (even though I'm not qualified haha) Hoping to get https://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-TN12-XP-L-Neutral-White/dp/B01EWW91S8/?tag=parametrek-20&fbclid=IwAR0U8mj5WW0TfE8uK3SPajxL3J05qntz87aI-q_YQyecKtnryN6x2qt7wqI :)
I don't have any specific light recomendations, but li-ion rechargeable batteries don't perform well in cold and should not ever be recharged when cold. I can't remember what the threshold is but it's well above -20F. I suggest getting a light that can take 2xCR123A's or 1x18650. That way during the warmer months you have the convenience if it being rechargeable and in the colder months you can use the more cold resistant CR123A cells.
The style of light you're describing is called a "dual-switch" design. Typically it's a side switch that cycles through modes and a tailswitch that turns the light on and off.
Here is a list of lights that can accept an 18650 and two CR123A's, use a dual-switch design, and have a 2m+ drop rating. I've capped the bezel diameter to keep it belt-pouch sized and you can fiddle with the parameters to narrow your options more (the "features" section may be particularly interesting).
If I had to pick one I'd suggest the Thrunite TN12 V4. I have one and it's great. If you go with the TN12 you may also check out the Thyrm Switchback 2.0 which is compatible with it. It makes it easier/faster to access and easier to hold/harder to drop while carrying other stuff in the same hand. Seems like something that might be handy in construction.
I hope this is helpful!
The Acebeam EC35 Gen II from Killzone flashlights with the SST-20 4000K emitter is really good. Be aware though, on that particular model the tail switch and side switches are indepedent and don't work like other dual switch lights. The tailswitch is ALWAYS turbo, and the side switch is used for all other operation. As with most dual-switch lights, this one does not carry very deep so if I bought one I'd grab an Armytek Wizard clip too which fits the EC35 well.
I really like the Thrunite TN12 V4. It's exactly the same as the TC12 V2 you mentioned, but it doesn't have integrated charging, doesn't come with a cell, and it's a little cheaper. I chose it because it's compatible with the Thyrm Switchback 2.0 ring/pocket clip which I highly recommend. I love it and I want one on every tailswitch light. The TN12 (all of this goes for the TC12 also) has a really nice sub-lumen mode I really like, the tailswitch is nice and very responsive, and the knurling is nice and grippy. I think they are two of the best choices for a dual-switch light. The neutral white color temperature is pretty nice too. It's worth noting these lights have a not great pocket clip just like the Acebeam. It's not horrible, but the switchback is WAY better and carries a little deeper. The Armytek Wizard clip I linked to might work on these lights too, but I'm not certain. The Olight M2R clip is another really good clip that might work.
I'd definitely consider the Acebeam with the SST-20 and an Armytek Wizard Clip a top contender for a 1x18650 light. If you want instant access to turbo at any time from a tailswitch I think this is by far the best option. I wish so much that this light was compatible with the Thyrm Switchback.
Another (very different) light is the Emisar D4V2. It's my preferred EDC. It's the same diameter as the Acebeam but significantly shorter. If you pick one up, I highly recommend also purchasing an Olight M2R pocket clip. You have to modify the clip slightly with a Dremel to get it to fit, but once it's on the light it's like it was made for the D4V2. WAY better than the stock clip. My favorite emitter for this is the same SST-20 4000K that's my top choice on the Acebeam. I definitely recomend the D4V2 over the D4SV2 because the D4V2 is small enough to be an EDC light. All you get by going with the D4SV2 is 8 more aux LED's, more thermal mass, and more throw. Those are good, but IMO they don't even remotely outweigh the convenience of being able to carry the light ON you in your pocket all the time.
I'll also throw in a mention of the Thrunite TN12 V4 (and TC12 V2 since it's the same light but with built in charging). It's not especially noteworthy in and of itself, but it's compatible with the Thyrm Switchback 2.0 which I absolutely love.
The light is a Thrunite TN12 V4 NW with a Thyrm Switchback 2.0 installed. The watch is a Casio MTD-1097D-1AVCF.
I wanted a light with the switchback and I tried a Nitecore MH12GT, but it would randomly go into strobe mode which was no good, and I found I never used the integrated charging. So, I returned it and got the Thrunite which was cheaper, has a better color temperature, and works with the Samsung 30Q 18650 cells I already have. The switchback is wonderful and works great with this light.
I've been wearing a Fossil Q Explorist HR smartwatch for a couple of years and it's been great, but I've found myself using it's smart features less and less, and the hassle of charging it every night was bugging me more and more. I wanted something classy looking without breaking the bank, so the Casio ~~ridiculous model number~~ was a perfect fit.
I reviewed early examples of the VG15 and found the electronics poorly built and unreliable. The TN12 is a better light by far, and it's $40 on US Amazon. The Wowtac A1S is a good alternative with similar features if that's too much; the quality is comparable (they're the same company), but it has a less efficient driver, a higher low, and a blinky mode in the regular rotation.
The Sofirn SP21 v2 is also a comparable light for $29 with a more efficient driver like that of the TN12, but it's CW only.
This is great of you, thanks!
This would be a great start for me in the world of proper lights. (Neutral white, light only)
ThruNite TN12 it is! Thanks!

I have this knife: ThruNite TN12 2016 XP-L Neutral White EDC LED Flashlight , and this is what i mean by a 2-way clip
Sorry for not being specific enough.
The Thrunite TN12 and Nitecore MH 10 are both good value for money, and if you want to max out your budget I love my Armytek Wizard Pro for its angled lense, magnetic base and drop / waterproof design. If you are a plumber I assume it can happen that your light gets wet at some point so that might be something to consider.
ThruNite TN12 Thanks!

How does this light stack up against current suggestions, astrolux s41 and jaxman?
