NTA, but perhaps you both can find a cheaper ring that she likes and looks nice? If it's just a titanium band, maybe look for something that also has a pretty cubic zirconia stone.
I myself know I lose rings all the time, so my original engagement set is on display in a shadow box. I wear this for daily wear, actually I've got three of them because I constantly misplace them.
