I've been looking at the Timex Weekender [link]
I was wondering if anyone had any specific thoughts about it. I am looking for a leather band watch with a simplistic design for under 50 dollars and this one seems to fulfill these requirements.
I am choosing between the 38 mm Timex Weekender and 40 mm Timex Weekender. I think fit is very important so I don't want a watch that would look big but I also don't want a watch that would be small and maybe a bit feminine.
My wrist is 6.3 in (16 cm). Here is a pic if that helps in any way. Is there a guideline for which watch size to get given my wrist size? What is your recommendation/thoughts?
I think a Timex Weekender will probably be one of your only options at that price point.
price shouldn't make too much of a difference... thanks!
Without knowing your personal style, my advice is to keep it clean and simple. White or black faces, leather/nylon bands. Timex makes some great field watch options like the Weekender or the Easy Reader. The Seiko 5 809 is a great option too for an aviation inspired watch and it looks even better on brown leather. If you're looking for a dive or dress watch, I highly recommend looking at the brand Orient.
Is the Weekender in this photo the same as this? Looks like a different strap and the second hand is red in yours.
This or this is what you want.
mmm, at first I was inclined to agree with you. But upon closer look at the weekender and the image that I posted I see a small difference.
Jim's watch has, what appears to be lines between the number/dots and the bezel. The weekender doesn't as it only has small dots along all the edges of the dial which wouldn't make it look the way Jim's watch does from a distance.
But other than that it does look awfully close to a Weekender, though, so I think that was a reasonable guess.
I went with this one [link]
Allright, that looks stylish, are they friendly at /r/Watches/ ?
Also was looking at this particular one , it looks fairly cheap and stylish but not sure how it would do or anything.
